Engineers Enginners In a Nutshell

Just my 2 cents worth:

Pro's
Better AI (although totally vindictive and a little heavy handed).
Better Mission Board
Better Visuals on Outfitting
Police Response is great, feels pretty good to have backup
Not Dropping from SC to scan USS
Quite a few more nice bits

Con's
Better AI (although totally vindictive and a little heavy handed). < Yup that twice, just dial it down a notch eh?
The Engineers - I really cannot see how much of an effective benefit they bring. Doing just fine with regular weapons and so what if my FSD is a few LY shorter, I just hit the FSD button a few more times. May be worth it if you could just pay them, Fish or Cr
Power Play - not that I have experienced a direct attack from an allied power, but had some threatening direct messages from them. I believe others have been attacked.
Missiles - NPC missiles are awesome, Player Missiles are crap, tried a few. Useless (but great fireworks) finished faster with pair of class 2 Multi-cannons
Heat Sinks - Just one more please?

All in all a really nice update but too much emphasis on things I don't think people actually cared about.

Still loving E : D, one day it will be just right. :)

Would have been nice to have

Naval Ranks could be gained by just working for superpower, trading, bounty hunting delivering exploration data. (Just like you go from Neutral to Allied), this way you can still keep your chosen career path and get somewhere.
Solo Play needs to be balanced against wings, Give me a Python or Anaconda over 3 annoying Eagles with death rays or how about something really cool, your Power Play NPC's come and join you in the fight (Solidarity)

P.S. Please can we have Fed and Imperial Decals for our ships, I will pay...

Missiles are crap? I've been ripping through Elite NPC's for the last few day's. I guess they may not be good for pure combat builds due to limited ammo, for freighters they are perfect. Back to how they should have been. Same deal with torpedo's, getting a direct hit is pure joy.

I may try them again, it was fun firing them but did not seem to do too much damage, Multi-Cannons just ripped it to shreds. This is based on my personal view of damage per minute of engagement.

npc Missiles use mods... you can get the same! hence mods are great countering your initial Point against them... Ai is not very strong now just a tidbit better and therefore more fun! but once we all have modded ships they will be way to weak again! I hope Ai gets another boost! I still find it too easy!

If ist challenging for your skills I sugest watch their Rating and dont attack those that you cant handle...

Well so far I am still alive since 2.1 release, just changed the style a little, a disposable Courier for engagements and Tradeconda for make money and running. A few close calls with cracked canopy and FSD my ass out of there. It just seems that engineers is another diversion forced down on us. Upgrade or die but there is only one way to do it. I am a trader & bounty hunter, love combat, trade just pays the bills for shiny toys. Can I not just Trade my way and buy a 'used' modified weapon? Nope, go grind for it. Wish I could but like many I have little free time as is. I guess that is my point.

Missiles dont do much hull damage, true. But they rip external modules (weapons, utilities, thrusters) to shreds. My trade Python runs triple turreted pulse lasers and a pair of heat seekers, and most fights end with my target tumbling in space with no thrusters prior to the pulsers finishing them off.
