Following the European Poll, here's a poll for the English dwellers (I'd do Scotland but I only have 20 poll spaces to make use of.... If there's sufficient gnashing and wailing I'll create one each for Scotland and Wales...)

If you're not in England you're more than likely in Europe so take a look at this poll instead

Due to the poll limitations only 20 options are available (sorry) so I've picked the top 20 counties by population. For simplicity I have grouped some neighbouring counties together (again, sorry)...

I did it by population numbers and Hampshire is more populous than Dorset...

Am surprised that you didn't go for larger areas instead and pick for instance East Anglia instead of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norwich etc

I did consider that but the trouble is that everyone has different ideas about which area they're in using those definitions whereas counties are pretty much nailed down... For instance, some people think Bedfordshire is in East Anglia while others think it's in the Home Counties whereas another group entirely think it's in the South-East... Gets messy y'see

Avon as a county technically no longer exists. The borders were re-drawn nearly 20 years ago, with Bristol being elevated to county status, and the surrounding rural areas divided between Somerset, Dorset and South Gloucestershire.

For reasons of taste, and in some cases legality, I cannot tell where I have put parts of myself.

I live in the London borough of Bromley, and we get to vote for Boris every few years and we are inside the M25, but our address reads Kent, and everyone who lives there says they are in Kent.

So partially nailed down then.
