enormous difficulty locating high-class beam laser

I'm looking for a location to purchase the best gimballed beam laser. I can't find it anywhere.

It's a C3. I have a Vulture with 2 large hard points, so I know it's not a matter of having the wrong type of ship. I go from high-tech system to system and never find it!

Am I missing something? Am I only allowed to have one equipped or something?

Anyone know a location to buy it?

If you mean that you can't find a 3A beam laser, then these don't exist. Only internal modules have the A-E ratings for quality.

Sometime eventualy, we will get different quality/procedurally generated weapons and modules, but we don't have them right now.

There's some near the empire controlled systems, I won't be able to find a definitive answer until tomorrow as I am away but my buddy found some just outside the empire bubble.

I think he is after the Class 3 C Rated gimballed beam Lasers.

Depends where you are, but I've seen them recently at Allioth, Irkutsk LHS 355, Ramelli City and IIRC Brahma, Smith Gateway.

There's also old favourites like Xihe, Zhen Dock and GAT-2.

There is a really weird amount of requests in that area coming about. That's about the third of such threads I see tonight. Try Diaguandri, it hasn't let me down yet. Also, I'm looking at a C3 gimballed rayon laser right now. In case you don't speak French: that's a beam laser. Come and get it at the Marcy Gateway in Apurui. 2,396,160 Credits the piece.

Are they too power demanding ?
My vulture currently has two type 3 pulse lasers, I thought of upgrading to a gimballed beam laser and a multi cannon or something similar, is that doable ?

Yes you can pull off a large fixed or gimballed beam laser with a cannon, or class 2 multi-cannon though I wouldn't suggest the multi-cannon. Right now, two pulses is probably the best all-rounder, as they are good against shields and subsystem targeting. Every now and then I like to switch to a fixed beam and gimballed cannon to work on my aim with fixed weapons, but its over-all less average damage than two pulses.

Two beams will drain your capacitor before you really make a scratch on the target's shields.

Yep. I had them and they drain the power to fast and overheat easily. Pulse lasers and that's it for the Vulture. Anything else and you're a right handed swordsman fighting with his left hand just because.

Everyone wants the bigger weapon but this game, for some odd reason, has made bigger weapons less effective on hard points built for them in the 1st place. I had that 18m Cr cannon and it was useless. That didn't stay around long.
