Enrichment Item Temperature Control

I miss being able to set at what temperature enrichment items like sprinklers, waterfalls and water jets would operate at. It gives you the freedom to use different settings for different animals which is something i find quite liberating. During the beta you could set temperatures under 0 degrees celsius, which shouldn't be a thing, but other than that I wish that feature made a comeback.

A definite upvote from me. It is quite distracting to see enrichment item temperatures set to 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), and animals not complaining about it even when said temperature is outside their suitability range.

Same with shelter. In some maps shelter is the same as the outside temperature (for instance Tundra), and tropical animals don't complain about it.

I mean I do get that they want to set universally suitable item placement temperatures for each species. Currently the sprinklers seem to work fine that way, but others don't. Even if they were all perfectly adjusted to automatically use correct temperatures for different animals, I'd still want the freedom to manually change the value within the suitable range. Having proper auto-detection as well as the freedom to adjust at the same time would be the best win-win solution imo. It would cater to both types of players.

It seems like that has changed: @Swjosdotschka mentioned on another thread that animals do complain about unsuitable enrichment item temperatures now. Looks like they changed it. This makes the entire thing much more important now as said enrichment items don't function properly anymore.

Before it was just a cosmetic annoyance, now it is actually lowering welfare. Same goes for shelters too, I tested with it. Now tropical animals do get uncomfortable even inside a building when in the tundra biome since shelter/indoor temperatures in that biome are equal to that of the outside.

Yes, it's turning wellfare down now. And it is annyoing as hell. Proteste-alarm right away, because they spawn too fast anyway. So a temperature set would be pretty awesome. And needed.
It was a really awesome feature, enjoyed it a lot back in the beta. Idk why they removed it 🤷‍♂️

I agree. I haven't started a challenge or franchise yet as I'm still completing all of the career stuff. I found in the Arctic DLC that I can't warm up the temp for any of the guests. They are all walking around shivering and some even leave because "it's too cold". I tried using habitat heaters but they don't seem to function outside of one. Adding this feature would be nice. I mean, I wouldn't let guests in my own home freeze, so. Ya know.... :)

Oh well, nice, that's an improvement but not enough. They either have to set suitable temperatures for each species or let us do it. A better solution is both like you suggested.

Indeed. I notice it mostly with the waterfall enrichment. It's massively annoying. My hippos, flamingoes, and elephants all ended up with low welfare (with welfare turned off, I must add) because of it.
