Enshrouded, a great survival crafting RPG

Enshrouded early access is available on Steam. It's a great open world, survival, crafting RPG. The world is voxel based so you can dig to create caves and build large structures. The early access world is 24 square kilometers (9 square miles), while the full version will be 2x larger.

I always wonder: If you are master over terrain, what's the point of buildings? You can simply dig them down. In Valheim you get the invulnerability stone. Is every house owner in this world having their rune of protection against bulldozing?

Is anyone else getting heartily bored with the endless trope of MMO survival games shovelled out month after month? If I never have to chop another tree to make sticks in my entire gaming time left on this planet, I'd heave a sigh of relief...
Peasants chop trees. Pros use a chainsaw (in Satisfactory). I have to revisit the last updates some time. I wonder if my spaghetti factory still works.

I ended up buying it anyway...since most of my current friends list seem to be playing it. It's just Valheim with marginally fancier graphics as far as I can make out after an hour or so playing coop. Absolutely simplistic survival guff so far...chop trees, break stones, build a hut and some tools, run around finding tree bark, berries or some other nonsense then go kill some monsters with a pointy rock tied to a stick whilst clad in animal furs 🤷‍♂️

I'll probably end up deleting it after a week...just like all the other 'must have' survival nonsense I've bought purely because my friends are all playing it

If you don't like the genre then you won't enjoy it. Enshrouded has better digging, building and the world has lots of handcrafted locations. It's nicer to explore than the random procedural areas of Valheim since you can memorize the locations and routes. It's in early access so you could wait a few months to see which features will be added.

Have you played The Long Dark? Best survival imo.

If the trailer for a game shows the player chopping a tree down it's an instant no from me

Looking for new people to play with? So am I! I host two Enshrouded servers, both password protected and backed up daily. SO.. that means if we get a jerk, we can just restore to a backup.

I'm looking for more people to join us. Please check out my website and join us in Discord so we can begin our adventure!
We have the highest level flame and currently have down max altars with plenty of room to build. Check us out:
