Entering Debug Camera Mode

[X-Terminator]

There's a black obelisk with these symbols on and I can't seem to fly around it. It simply says: -
"Entering Debug Camera Mode" and a few instructions warning me I can not be controlled in this mode and is vulnerable. It is right!
What is this strange obelisk?

It must be intelligent. The sides form a perfect rectangle. When I stare at it I go into a trance and wonder how it got there.
