The Kymco 500 is a really nice scoot. I had a choice between that baby brand new and a secondhand Burgman for about the same price, but the Burgman just didn't "fit" me - I felt like I was scrunched up sitting on the thing. So I went with the Kymco, which I can actually relax on during long rides and has ABS, which the older Burgman model didn't. And immediately invested in some lock-juice for the mirrors to stop 'em shaking loose thanks to the vibes from an idling 500 single :)

Sorry to hear about your separation from your vessel, hope the quacks re attached all the right bits in their rightful place and that you have a speedy recovery.

Its going to be at least £300 to replace the leather jacket and helmet, not seen the bike since so no idea on that but...

I've just been told I can go home today! YAY

I'll put some images up of the damage in a bit just to show you the hell I've been kept in, although the nurses have been incredible and i will be bringing them all flowers when I'm more mobile!

Ouch, get well soon!!

As a continuation of your popular "Weekend plans" threads my plans for this weekend are:

1) Recover from 1 week holiday and jetlag.
2) Spend some of the dollah from my 8 month exploration trip payout (Pic heavy): https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/281395-8-months-559-000Ly-and-a-monster-of-a-thread
^shameless plug but some pretty pics and story to pass 10 minutes if you fancy it.

3) Engineer a racing and/or fuel ratting Imperial courier.
4) Engineer the longest range Anaconda I can (also for fuel ratting and/or travelling).
5) Start the Imperial rank increase plan. Gotta get me a mining and trading Cutter eventually.

Don't expect I'll get past part 3 of the plan but will see how it goes :D


Best of luck with the recovery at least arms are more or less intact for flying so you can presumably play Elite whilst "taking it easy" in the next few weeks.

Get well soon Bran and don't be put off riding. I remember one occasion when I came off my bike, sliding down the road and hearing a horrible scraping noise in my helmet. I remember praying that my helmet would stay on. It did but had a large flat area on one side. All I had was a lightly scraped knee. I started wearing full leathers after that.

I'm home finally! Although I have an entire pharmacy of painkillers ranging from tramadol to morphine sulphate to take through the day. Been really nice to just be home. Tomorrow I'll try the pc which should be fun as I cant move my right arm much so one handed flying for me... Good job I'm lost in space right now, nothing except planets and stars to hit!

I'll post an update tomorrow but I figure exploration in Elite will be playable. Thanks for asking too, been really nice to get support from fellow CMDR's.

I may be in pain but... I'm still smiling :)

I used to fall off my bike so often people starting giving me advice to keep the rubbery bit down. I was lucky I never got hurt. The most painful accident was one time I was giving my brother a lift I crashed the bike... in front of a massive bus queue. The painful part was when my brother smacked me across the head for embarrassing him.

Thanks Bill... I figured there would be something, at least they didn't move the bubble! :D

Turns out I can fly with just the left hand, it's slow going but it's easier then playing anything else.

Just out of sympathy and because I'm functionally ambidextrous and wondered if I could, I had a crack at some of the training missions trying to use my X52 with just my left hand... Was an interesting challenge to be sure. Kudos to you for successfully flying that way.
