Entire COL 70 sector "Permit Only": Is this new?

Whoever supplies the navigation data for the hyperdrives ultimately controls where we can go. We have a complete map of all the targetable jump destinations in our ships. It's just a "software" change in the hyperdrives to disallow travel to certain locations.

It just occurred to me that this could be used in the BGS as a possible failed outcome of an disease outbreak. The system could be quarantined, and no ships permitted to travel there. Then, when the quarantine is lifted, the population of the system could be less, and the economy could be changed (fallen from hi-tech to agrculture, for example)

Col 70 Sector is damn HUGE. I'm struggling to head to Spirograph nebula.. I don't see the reason to lockdown entire sectors unless they want to pis s off players. I mean, you can develop the game without lockdowns

Edit: Just noticed that Col 121 is near the nebula so I'll have to do a 2000-3000 ly trip instead of the usual 900 ly trip... gg frotier, really

On my way out of the bubble via Maia and the Witch's Head nebula, and I noticed that all systems in the Col 70 Sector are permit only. I haven't been this exact route before, so I'm not certain if this is new or has been existing for a while. Anyone else know if this is a new development?

Here's a list of all known permit-locked regions that we (or at least I) know of. They intrigue me quite a bit. Why do huge regions of space have to be locked? (Looking at you,
Bleia, Praei, Sidgoir, Dryman, Froadik, Bovomit, and Hyponia.
So weirdly placed and mysterious...I love it!)

Barnard's Loop Sector
M41 Sector

Yoink! Thank you, added those sectors to the list. :)

Well, they mostly appear to be near nebulas, and we know the UAs and UPs are found around nebulas too. I suspect we need to keep an eye on these, as my feeling about the probes and data comms satellites (UAs) is these are prepping for a Thargoid invasion.

Hey, i know this thread is several years old but i'm having the same problem. i ventured out into the trapezium sector, inside the flaming head nebula to do some exploring and now i'm struggling to find a valid route more than about 500 LY from where I am, heading away from the bubble. I also can't plot a route back to barnard's star (where I have my main home base) and I think it's because COL 70 sector is right between me and the bubble. Could anyone give me some advice? Should I try plotting a route up and go over COL 70? is there a map somewhere of the different sectors?
