Discussion Epic Account Journal Files

Hi. I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I could do with some assistance.

I use the Epic Client as a 2nd Account to launch one of my commanders and although I have setup an EDSM Account, also receiving an API key, my Commander details are not being updated; also the third party tool EDDiscovery I use for my other account brings up the following messages:

'CAPI Authorization failed' 'Error sending EDSM events name/API key not found.'

I was wondering if this has anything to do with Frontier and Epic accounts having two separate places where journal files are stored and if so does anyone know where the Epic Journal files are stored.

o7 in advance

Epic ED client journal files are stored in the same place as Steam/Frontier clients.
The journals have non-descript file names, but the commander name is stamped inside the files and EDSM (at least for manual upload of journals) will not accept journal files for other commander except the one authenticated in EDSM (it will throw an error). So no worries uploading the wrong journals.

Thanks for clearing that up.
I did try to do a manual import update of the Journal file from the location you pointed out (i.e. "Steam/Frontier client") directly with the EDSM website on the account I created but was informed 'it its not the same file as current commander' .

The Journal file is correct as you indicated, (i.e. "the commander name is stamped inside the files")
It would appear then that I set up the EDSM account incorrectly, so I will delete it and create a new one and see if that works out.

I will post whether it was a success or failure, at least then other (new) commanders who face this issue will have another solution to the multi account issue.

Thanks again and o7
