Horizons Epic fail

OOPS!

Ramming is a legitimate combat tactic, and I have used it myself in the past. Zero pips to shields (especially when they were getting weak) left you vulnerable to your opposition. In combat I will always have a minimum of one pip to SYS, and if my shields are weakening I will pop four to SYS, and start evasive flying.

Epic fail on the viper pilots part, sure. Lets see, 0 pips in shields, no pip management (out of sys power AND engine power AND weapons full) 4 pips into weapons of course!

Rule #1 always have FULL distributor charge in all 3 SYS/ENG/WEP.
Rule #2 When going headon with anyone always have 3-4 pips in sys, and the rest as you see fit, if you get hit it doesn't hurt much.
Rule #3 Learn about REVERSE, these are not air planes, you are in space you can fly backwards with no problem.

could we not have another ramming mechanic? like instant cockpit breach for both and then slowly damage more and more structure? yet ensure ramming does not actually takes an opponent out??? (please????)

Just a tip, you should split pips between systems and weapons, managing back and forth, and instead of boosting FA off to go back for another round of Merri-go-round, use reverse thrust, if you're stronger, stay in reverse thrust just enough to keep them at a good range and lay into them. Reverse thrust is almost better than FA off for combat. I use both, but find myself using reverse much more...

Wow.. If a mostly harmless NPC can do that to a cmdr that at least knows how to use FA off/On (but forgets pips mngmnt - due to over-confidence I suspect ;)) imagine what a higher ranked NPC can do to me who has zero skill in FA off... I will ask frontier to return my combat rank back to harmless or beter to useless..

Yep, nice piloting but remember to use sys pips next time. It's easier when you get those medium multicannons.

Man just farm some credits to repay losses and put some power love to those shields.
Bro tip: use magnets for faster aquiring!
