Equatorial cannonball run

Seriously, though, do tell - we might be able to form a trio of hardy SRVeers . . . because that is a thing now, right?

Darn straight it's a thing. We need an Srv appreciation Society badge!

I’m thinking about trying it, but on some small undiscovered potato world, not something as large as Beagle 2! I figure a small sub 500km radius world should take somewhere around 45 hours to circumnavigate. That’s a lot of time, but I think it sounds like a fun challenge. I’ve been keeping my eyes out for a sweet colorful undiscovered tiny rocky ice world closely orbiting something large with rings along my travels, maybe one will sing out to me!

If it's after the holidays, I'm in :D

I had an absolute blast traversing the hills of Mitterand Hollow.....but that's still a fair size planet from memory. BP7 is also picturesque iirc.....but big.....and too far away.

Perhaps do something like a Paris-Dakar on the surface of a small moon? Not the full circumnavigation business but something that involved a few timed stages?

I’ve been thinking about this, I’d almost want to do it inside the bubble instead of out in deep space. You’d come across a lot of random POI’s that would make the trip interesting. Plus it might be fun to see just how much salvage I could accrue along the way! I wonder if I could fill a T9 full of space junk while circumnavigating a tiny planetoid…

I hear there's a planetoid in the Dahan system with a radius of 167km... maybe a good candidate for an in-bubble equatorial run.

One heck of a lot more patience than I possess. Congrats.
What is really needed tho is some planets with more than just rocks and dirt and ice.
Like trees and brush and water.
hmm.... I wonder if the SRV can float/ford small streams and ponds.

To commander disorganise ... congratulations on your entry to the Planetary Circumnavigation Club!

Could you please check your entry in the OP of that thread and let me know if I've made any mistakes. Also, If you're aware of any other candidates then perhaps you could post some details in that thread.

For old times sake, I thought I'd pull up the start and end points together;

If you look closely, the features are actually the same. One could almost believe those tracks there are the ones I put down at the start [yesnod]
What is interesting (and correct) is the fact the galaxy is now in front, where it was not at the start; just goes to show the whole system is indeed in motion....how much do you love this game?

NECRO:::

Late to the party, but how on Braben's Blasted Beige Moon did you manage to get back to your starting point?.... Exactly the same point.... Un-fragging-believable.
