Equip T9s in CZs with Heal Beams and Repair Limpets to add a support ship.

A change of AI behaviour and equipment for the T9s in CZ would add a newer support role that could be used by player and AI to add more dynamic and mechanics to CZs.

Hull repair limpets would help players in smaller, more fragile ships while one or two Concordant sequence or regeneration sequence beam lasers would be a great help for players in bigger ships, not too mention that those could also be used to make the AI fights more difficult by having them retreat into the range of the support ships.

In close-mid range fighting distance between attacker and attacked, hull repair can be denied by the point defense of the attacker while the heal beams would lose efficiency with increasing distance which makes it necessary to approach the supporting ships to receive assistance.

T9s equipped with a Class Seven fighter bay could also launch their two SLFs to either provide protection for themselves or the ships they're assisting while point defense and turreted weapons protect the T9 itself.

This support role could of course be altered based on minor faction wealth and allegiance.

An independent, very wealthy minor faction could for example use an Anaconda in this support role which would make the support ship considerably harder to kill, while an imperial very wealthy minor faction could use a Cutter for the same purpose.

In my opinion this feature would add greatly to the existing mechanics and gameplay in CZs if implemented properly.

Signed.
To begin with the AI needs some Improvements.
And we also need some more Roles and differences in Combat.

The Current All Lancing and Dogfighting thing is Boring as well.
All Ships are essentially Pointing Front at the Enemy and Fire Away. We need some variations here....

This is coming in a way with 2.4 as repair limpets are coming.

With more game mechanics and game loops in FD focus, the hope is more stuff like this pops out unexpectedly- simply due to the items and mechanics FD introduce. Salvage and Repair ships look like they might well become a thing. Science and Research contacts are also now going to be in the Contacts menu, so we can expect new developments there.

Keelbacks could also fill this role in Low CZ.

It could also be fun to adopt a support role in a CZ. I haven't tried healing lasers, but I've heard they can't be used on NPCs. This would need to be possible once you've chosen a side.

She knows that its coming.
The Suggestion is for the AI to actually use this stuff and get some new Behavior Patterns.
Because the AI so far has been ignored in such additional Equipment. And usually just keeps going on as usual.

So the Suggestion is that the EU actually gets some AI gets an Upgrade so it for example stands out of the Battle only sending in Fighters and using Repair Limpets on Allies rather than going into Battle with its T9

New weaponry (anti-Thargoid focus)
Hull repair limpets (primarily aimed at explorers), repair self or others (Fuel Rats tool?)
Limpet making synthesis recipe (could you continuously mine materials to make limpets to mine materials!?)
Comms panel now has filters for incoming messages (ie unread, urgent, audio logs, missions etc...)
New contacts at stations, search and rescue contact dealing with salvage items
NO MORE SUICIDEWINDER! Not 100% clear on this but seems to be, the rebuy of most expensive ship used during the "crime spree" is added to your rebuy
Pilot's Federation Bounty. Attack a ship with a Pilot's Federation pilot, gain a Pilots Federation bounty. A PR bounty is valid everywhere (except anarchies)

Confirmed for 2.4 apparently.

I like this idea, it adds more depth & gives a reason to defend (or attack) a particular ship rather than just shoot the reds & get the other greens to follow you.

Potentially cap ships could offer similar services in some circumstances (eg when both sides have one).

Well I hope they counter hull repair limpets with a little more risk while exploration. Maybe a little more danger with Pirates and thargoids

Right now the only danger I see is the users. Flying Drunk, Texting while flying, Eating while flying. Not watching what your doing while flying. Few Heat issues. Or dead center of a planet. Then they cry my hull damage. I done the Oh man I was not paying attention and had hull damage. I learn to off set my control so I don't have this problem.

What I hoping is the Long Distance Main space ways will get a little more riskier. So going to Point A to Point B would require repairs. Maybe the Main passenger missions will get riskier. You know going from Sol to Sag A. The most direct route would not be the best idea you will have Pirates. Then going to send passengers to nebula might have Thargoids risk.

Maybe It should be something that repair other ships and not your own. So it add a co op exploration which will add a risk. Because you have to trust the other players.

We don't need I can repair my ship forever.
