Equipment Upgrade

Hi all,

I guess I got lucky and got a nice bonus at work.

I am thinking of new controls and considering the X52 Pro throttle and stick combo. My worry is that I tend to play games like Rise of Flight and Battle of Stalingrad where I have to think about mixture, radiator, oil cooler, supercharger and other settings in addition to throttle, often for multiple engines.

My current stick has two throttle axis controls, and I tend to use one for throttle and one for mixture in a single engine world, or both for throttle in a multi engine simulation.

Can anyone recommend for or against the X52 Pro for E : D / RoF / BoS?

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I have the x52 Pro and I love it for Elite Dangerous. Fantastic HOTAS.

The X52 Pro is great with DCS, IL2, RoF and other warbird sims. I generally use the slider on the throttle for prop control, the thumb rotary for elevator trim and the index finger rotary for rudder trim. Plenty of keys and switches.
And it's not prohibitively expensive, although I hear they're getting tough to find.

From what you've posted I don't think you'd be happy with a Saitek in the long term - check out what CH and Thrustmaster have to offer.

When shopping for a HOTAS I read a disturbing number of reports about the quality of build and longevity of Saitek controllers. It seems that when they function they are great but...

Conversely CH products enjoy an almost universal reputation for solid, lasting, no frills quality.

That was what decided me in favor of the CH throttle and Fighterstick. I've had them for a couple weeks and I'm very happy.

Thank you all - quite a lot to think about. The Warthog is more than I would like to spend, but I will look at what CH has to offer.

I was amazed that the X-55 Rhino was 100+ pages about it here.
