Eranin Fighter attempts a Millennium Falcon

I've done this myself actually... today even.

Not but a few hours ago I was stowed away in the small hanger on the under side of the ship, shields off and completely cold/silent. I was waiting for Federation pilots to come in so I could nab'm without them even knowing I was there.

Worked too, 2 pilots became cannon fodder.

Somebody did this to me this morning! Silent, cannons, never even saw his name. For a second reading Corium's post, I thought it might have been him, but he would never fight for the Feds, I'm sure ;)

Are you saying you didn't even see him on the scanner? I didn't think silent running was that good?

There was very little time to see anything. If he showed up as he started firing, I didn't notice. I was too busy blowing up. The Eagle is a frail creature.

It could have been a glitch, but it makes sense that somebody was there. When you drop into a combat zone in Eranin space, if you're alone in the instance, a few seconds will pass before NPC ships jump in. But if you join an instance with another player, the fight will already be underway.

This morning, the latter was the case but I never saw a hollow triangle. At some point I passed close to the Federal cruiser to get to the next target and this thing happened. Boom, shields down, blam blam dead. Sad commander.

Well, I took out a CMDR (in a sidewinder) fighting with the Eranin scum this afternoon. He was surrounded by his rebellious scum, but that didn't stop me finishing his rebellion!

Joking aside, if the NPC craft are busy with each other, and your attention was elsewhere, another CMDR could come up pretty close to you and dish out a swift death to an Eagle without getting much flack from enemies.

I suspect that's what happened?

You never know, he may not even have chosen a side?

I have learned to keep a pretty keen eye on the scanner. There were definitely no hollow triangles about and no echoes on my tail, at least until the klaxon.

So silent will keep you off someone's scanner even at close range when they are firing at you?
