Error in Game Mechanics

Description: One jump away from completing multiple missions at Ratraii System was interdicted by NPC pirates. escape vector into system star, so not an option. I zero submitted ( verified by text appearing on screen). Unfortunately, I was left with a long FSD cool down. I began to boost and maneuver but shields could not hold and I was destroyed. I am extremely upset since I lost data of an over 21,000Ly of travel, having been the first to discover at least 6 Earth like worlds.

If at all possible, please investigate this. Not only have I lost six days of exploration, all the data, the cost of the rebuy, I also have to pay the fines for not completing the missions.

This is not remotely a bug, this is the standard game mechanic. Long FSD cool downs occur when you submit to an FSD interdiction. You would've had a faster cool down if you failed the Interdiction mini-game. You lose your ship, you lose any data you collected in exploration. You got the fine for the loss of the courier information that you might have glossed over when you accepted the mission. There's nothing to account for when it came to your retreating skills and makes me wonder why you didn't use chaff and other tools to assist with the retreat.

You shouldn't have submitted to the FSD Interdiction. The mini-game for this is modestly easy albeit annoying.
