Starting the game from the Launcher, game loads but instead of the menu get the following message?
Error trying to login? Any have or had this before?

Not had that particular one before but had an error right after logging in while pruning my friends list to remove people I just don't see anymore and/or don't fully trust.

just logged in ok using the Frontier Elite Dangerous Launcher, so it's not universal.

Normal client - message is appearing instead of the menu once the game has loaded.

After logging in, do not click on Play to launch the game.

Instead click on the Options menu and select "Validate game files" to make sure all the files are ok,
as one maybe corrupted.

Ah fixed it.
It looks like an AVG Update a couple of days ago quarentined a file out of the game directory....have put it pack and its now running so Im hoping its an antivirus problem rather than an actial virus. (file was Watchdog.exe...if anyone can shed some light it would be appreciated.)

Good news it's fixed, you are not the first in this area.

Tip: I've excluded my anti-virus from checking the Elite Dangerous game files in the hope that it helps prevent any in-game stutter.

In case anyone else has this problem I have reported this as a false positive to AVG so they can remove it after they have done their analysis etc.
