Escape from and Interceptor

I have been watching YT videos of people with various AX builds. Ships with the new AX weapons, but no Engineered weapons, seem to be able to take on Scouts, but not Interceptors. So, if an Interceptor shows up can you escape? And if so, how hard is it?

I have been running evacuation missions and haven't tried combat yet.

It is not hard. Boost and Use heatsink as soon as the goids spawns in. Keep heat below 20%
Do not go in a straight line if your ship is slower than 400 m/s

Basilisks are faster than the others, but they also have a lot of inertia so if they start to catch up with you, turn FA off if it isn't already, flip to face them, and boost straight past them. They'll get maybe a few shots off before you're out of range again and you'll be gone by the time they have a chance to turn around.
