Escape pods in damaged stations.

I can't grab the suckers lol. I picked up a bunch of missions, thinking it would be a super fun challenge. Well, it's such a challenge I had to take a break from the game because I am so frustrated haha. I tried flying in and targeting them individually, but when I get the audio queue that something has been added to my cargo hold- I look and, nothing. So I tried letting the limpet's just do their own thing, knowing they will probably be picking anything up BUT pods, and the same thing happens lol.

And manually scooping- is not likely for a pilot like me. Anyone having success/ failure at these?

As I typed this I realized that I should have checked the bug reports first :|

take collector limpets and heatsinks... lots of heatsinks!!

if you target the thing wanted and than shoot the limpet, it'll collect only that selected item, meaning it's 1-to-1 with limpets and wanted items (the limpet gets destroyed after successful delivery)

Yup, literally wrote that I did just that lol. And tried it without selecting a target. Either way, I'm getting the audio queue that I have picked something up once my limpets reach the cargo hatch, but nothing is showing in my inventory. Thought it may be just a bug where my cargo wasn't showing in my hold, so went to the rescue ship and looked at the commodities and rescue agent- no cargo.

And yeah, definitely have to have heat sinks, it gets nice and toasty real quick haha. Also, no, I haven't been overheating and getting a cargo hatch malfunction (well, I did the first time haha), have attempted this around 5-6 times.

I tried the limpets. I think they melted before they returned lol. My cargo hatch is melting like its made out of snow.

I didn't find any bug reports on Xbox section, but there are two in the PC forum that are in the same ballpark. One has to do with the escape pods and various other canisters not spawning. The other a cmdr is claiming that they spawn, but are clipping into the station walls. So while I haven't seen anything specific to my problem, misery loves company, and it soothes my frustration a bit to know that there is some kind of borkiness going on

With three heatsinks I was able to target/ almost but not quite collect 3-4 canisters. I transferred another heat sink out to buy myself more time. Going to jump back on and try manual sccoping again, should be a hilarious time!

Edit: Tried manual scooping, still could not get anything to register in my cargo hold.

Turn off rotational correction. It makes it much easier. I was able to scoop them up in my conda by doing that.

That definitely would make scooping them easier, thanks. However, still no canister's showing up in the cargo hold is my real issue haha.

I didn’t have any problems with the limpets collecting cargo when I tried. I did have problems with floating debris banging up the limpets in the station. Also there are engineering materials floating around that your limpets will go for if there on auto pilot.

Were you playing in solo? I did notice that when I switched to solo to see if the canister's would show in my cargo hold, absolutely no canister's/ mats spawned inside the station at all.

Open at titan's daughter just kept freezing upfor me, switched to mobius on xbox.
Trying to collect salvage, gee its difficult, armed with 2 heat sinks, the limpet keeps failing, maybe the debris field or the dolphin has a poor cargo hatch.
Tried collecting from outside the station gate, but out of range for my 1d limpet. Tried a 3a limpet but without my 3a Shields, my hull was frying. Tried above the landing pad then quickly landing. Finally found if I faced the back of the station, the limpet worked and when I was down to last heat sink, turned and boosted out of the station.
Not sure whether to use cargo for mission rewards or search and rescue, going for latter to get achievements for occupied pods, personal effects and black boxes and lifting upto 18 refugees. Great fun, although is there a target number that us going down?
Makes the cg seem irrelevant. Nice break from exploring on my raxxla quest
wish all these rescue threads can be almagamated

Huh, so you are able to pick up pods with the limpets at Titans Daughter? And they go into your cargo hold and everything? Maybe I'm just lucky[noob]

Not easy, took me about 10 goes to find a way.
A long range limpet would help I think.

I was able to pick up pods and anything else I fancied just now at The Oracle. I'm also in PG right now too, so not sure if it's the private group or the station difference (all other attempts being in open/solo and Titans Daughter).

Sunday afternoon:
5 jumps across the stars in my 50ly asp x to collect and and fit heats sinks to my ecocabinconda. 24 jumps to make it to the Oracle. Fours trips collecting 197, then 199, then 200 and finally another 200 refugees each time I risked my myself and my ship to get em out safely. Total:796 saved humans. Good fun was had &#55357;&#56832;
So....
The question is, how many people should a star port hold...?

Got the same Problem. Tried it on Sunday and yesterday with an dolphin. yesterday i managed to collect 4 black boxes manually... well, i had to collect 5, because the second one suddenly disappeared out of my inventory :S .

But afterwards the collected items never showed up in Inventory again.
