Escape vector

As a new player in solo doin a grind to build up some credits ran across I guess my first interdiction as I found out later, and not knowing at the time what was goin on I just kept my nose pointed to the vector escape and finially everything was back to normal in SC and waiting for my FSD to cool down. I was just carryin data on my computer to Oragine to get paid. But was really surprised in my sidewinder. Im still at only 190,000 credits and doin the grind enough where I can purchase an Adder for haulin cargo and make more cheddar.

If it's a hostile NPC related to the courier mission then you usually see a little headsup in the comms channel before the interdiction attempt - "Target located, moving to intercept" or somesuch. If you spot a comms like that, then prime yourself for an interdiction.

You may also get randomly interdicted by pirates (looking for anything in your cargo hold) or security forces (checking you out if the system is in a certain state e.g. terrorist attack). NPC interdictions are usually winnable, though can be close-run in some ships (a Type 9 steers like a brick).

It is usually a good idea to read the full mission description - usually you are being told if there's a risk of someone coming after you. And yes, you get what you're getting paid for. High reward missions (with respect to your current reputation with the mission giving faction) are always suspicious. Especially if they go to Alpha Centauri :devilish: .

Also - mission related NPC adversaries will have the task to kill you, and scale with the mission danger rating (which again influences the mission payout). So you might get a (or four) Deadly or Dangerous Anaconda go after you if you accept the wrong type of mission. Random NPC pirates scale to your own combat rank, often only care about your cargo and will complain about their hungry children if you're not carrying anything.

Yes on the mission board I always check to see if its illegal or risky being that I wouldnt stand a chance with my green combat skills. Someone also mentioned to have a plotted course unrelated to the destination to save time for a possible escape.

I think you are a bit confused there. If you win the interdiction mini-game then you remain in supercruise and there is no FSD cool-off - you only get that on losing or submitting and will be in normal space, not supercruise.

Yes-ish. That relates to high waking (= hyperjump to a different system) as opposed to low waking (= going from real space to supercruise). Low waking can be inhibited by the mass of a larger ship, high waking can't - and therefore high waking can get you out of dodge faster.

Downside is that if you have a persistent follower, after a high wake and return to your target system, you'll again have to travel all the way through the target system towards your destination, giving your follower again more time to catch up to you.
