Escaping under fire?

I am interested to hear what some of you do when you realize it's better to run screaming like a little girl from a fight. (This was me in my Asp yesterday around 22% hull will an Anaconda and a few sidewinders in tow).

I tend to do this:

1. Point away and afterburner

2. After establishing my vector, I burner again and turn of flight assist.

3. Keep burning with pips 4 in engines and 2 in shields until I can frameshift.

Thoughts?

1. don't scream like a little girl
2. when you have only 22% armor left it allready is too late
3. erratic maneuvers are worth platinum
4. boost with care not with dare
5. allways stay aware of distances to your attackers, their positions and maneuvers
6. the scanner is your friend, don't use it to play pong on the fly.

1. Turn *towards* the pursuing ship/group.
2. When close, boost under/over it
3. Full power to engines.

Yep, works well, especially against ships with primarily energy weapons or those that have worse acceleration.

Make sure ENG cap is full, and use four pips in sys (if they are up) while the opponent closes (preferably from far enough that they want to boost to you), then flick FA off and point toward them, boost, immediately go 2 pips sys and 4 in eng, and just keep going.

2. when you have only 22% armor left it allready is too late
3. erratic maneuvers are worth platinum
4. boost with care not with dare
5. allways stay aware of distances to your attackers, their positions and maneuvers

I agree.

You should be able to make an assessment of your chances way before you're at 22% armor, often before even being fired upon, most certainly before you lose shields.
