Estimate of astronomical bodies

Just want to put this idea out there, maybe ED will think about it, and wondering what other explorers thing about it.

While I'm exploring space where systems are sparse, and materials are needed greatly, it would be nice to be able to get an estimated of bodies in a system before visiting a system. I hate visiting a system that looks good (2+ suns) and get there, and there nothing. I know some people will be thinking 'well, it's luck of the draw' but really, not having access to this information is a bit unrealistic, and I will explain why.

you may think the only way to estimated the bodies in a system is via planet transits and star wobbles, and this takes time to collect information (years even) but its not the only way. We could , even now, directly image planets them selves with high detail (not the low resolutions images you have seen) , within a remote system using gravitational lenssing.

I can't remember the exact measurement of distance and zoom achieved, but using the sun in our own system and having a telescope out at the distance of Pluto, would let use image the surfaces of extra solar planets, down to the level of building on the surface.

not saying we should have module/system where we have to get to a certain distance from a star with a vector from the star to the next jump location to get an estimate of bodies, as this would be messy game play, but I do feel there should be a way to scan a destination before you go there, to get an estimate of bodies. Its the year 3302 in ED and we can already do it in theory in 2016 (just cost way to much)

There are lots of things the game could tell us, and lots of things that feels wrong but is done on purpose, the whole point is to make us "work" for it.

For example the flight model, YAW is nerfed on purpose (and PITCH in star citizen), otherwise combat would be really silly and too easy.

well, as long as there is a reason for it :p we can suffer it together.

But i get what you mean, for example, having to land on a planet, when your ship's auto pilot can to it perfectly when you call it back

Added:
But the reason it seem 'strange' to me is...

I may have to travel a string of 2-3 stars to check if there are planets in them, so I can mine more materials, if there is not, I then have to head back and rethink things (not always a logical option and spend a day worth of play mining for no progress) or carry on and hope I find planets (current system I use). yes, it add risk, but it feels like adding risk in the same way as cutting the brake lines on a car adds risk :p

added added:
An equivalent risk would be; not knowing what type of start i'm jumping too, as I have to drain my fuel tank to a very low level and if I could not scoop, I could not progress of return to the previous star

With regards to systems they are trying to treat them as we see them in real life. It has a star or 2, and a wobble, so possibly planets, but not which type.
