Estonian fauna

In light of recent news I'm pretty positive we're getting an European dlc. If it's gonna be an Estonian one ( based on the new map ) then here's what we can expect :

-Deer ( Red or Roe )
-Moose
-Racoon Dog
-Beaver
-Lynx
-Badger
-Red Fox
-Boar

For me it's Moose and Lynx and whatever else they decide to put there. I'm fine.
Just hoping for no European Wolves or Bears

If it is I’m pretty sure the red deer is a for sure pick since we have the decor. I will be happy with whatever dlc we get but a European would be a pleasant surprise. A lot of great animals in that region. Otters are probably a bit off if they will indeed end up in planet zoo but a European otter would be great. Someone pointed out a eucalyptus tree by the vending machine pic tho.

I don't quite think they would "spoil" the DLC surprise by mentioning Estonia, so I am more "team Australia" if I have to guess. But:

I agree. Lynx and Moose would be cool for an European DLC, but I don't need more wolves and bears either.

I don't know where they come from, but I do know there's populations in Russia and Baltic
They come from Asia but there are Populations in Germany because of escaped Animals. I think it could be likely that they are also living in some other European Countries. Also I still think it will be a Australia DLC because we already saw multiple Australian Plants and there was also a Mexican Zoo included in the Career-Mode of the Arctic Pack

Just because it says it's in Estonia doesn't necessarily mean that's the DLC theme. It's just a scenario map that's coming for free, it doesn't feature any new content aside from the timed feature. The SANDBOX map with the New Biome hasn't been revealed yet. So Aussies are still on the table.

Whichever is it going to be, I'm happy 😁
I would appreciate Aussie over Europe if I had to choose but I'll be far from dissapointed if turns out to be Europe. With later sighting of Eucalyptus I am now leaning on Aussie side

Yeah that seems right, I've looked it up earlier. They're introduced in Europe and stretch all the way from Russia to France and to Scandinavia and Baltic

🤔 Now that I think about it : maybe a Red Fox or European Rabbit could be included in a Australia DLC (but hopefully this wouldn't mean that we only get 2-3 Australian Animals, but they would be great as Bonus Animals)

An important point to note is that there is a eucalyptus in the vending machine picture. So I’m fairly sure we are getting Australia.

It’s not impossible that we might get a European dlc at the same time but my expectation is that the Estonia map is just for the scenario much as I’d love some European animals.

Given the way that Frontier treated South America, which is not only larger but much more ecologically diverse than Europe, there is no way they are going to dedicate a DLC to a single country (and if they did it would probably be their home, the UK). It makes no sense to demarcate packs by political boundaries as animals and speciation do not follow those boundaries. I wish that Frontier would choose to focus on ecozones rather than try to represent entire continents with just four animals. Even though Europe is probably the least diverse continent (excluding Antarctica) in terms of habitats, it may be worthwhile breaking out Alp(ine) or Iberia zones. We already have the Arctic pack which covered (or could have) Scandinavia.

I'm sorry to be the one to point this out to you, as I hope it does not disappoint you. In time you will get your European dlc, and it will be fantastic. But you have misread the post update in every way possible. What Chante was pointing out to when she made mention of Estonia is that there will be a Timed Scenario based on this country, it has absolutely nothing to do with the mystery brand new landscape that is to be revealed soon per her post. Clearly in no way being revealed soon, means that it is the same as the Time scenario based in Estonia.

The picture featuring the vending machine, has already being identified has featuring four different plants/trees from Oceania, so it is a dead giveaway. Again I hope you set your expectations accordingly, and I mentioned, there will be in my opinion a European DLC at some point, just not now. I was almost certain that the ability for players to upload custom images and soundtrack to the game (based on the PC timeline) would be revealed with this update, and sadly it did not, so I'm happy for the other players that received what they wanted. But to think that we would ever receive a DLC based on Estonia, specifically it is a long shot, to say the least. I was born in Cuba, do i think that there will be Cuban DLC at some point, not a chance. Both Cuba and Estonia are not relevant enough when it comes to the zoo world, their exhibitions and collections. No offence to any Estonian, I have visited your beautiful country (mostly Tallinn) I think it is extraordinary. Just trying to keep expectations realistic, because in this case, is not even Frontier trying to misinformed anyone, it is just individuals either not reading the entire post in detail, or coming away with whatever conclusions and interpretations they see fit.

No thank you, that would honestly make no sense at all. You know we will be lucky if we get anything over the four animals we have been getting thus far. There is a whole country full of amazing animals in Australia waiting to join this game, and this not even going further into Oceania, since it will just get too complicated then. A rabbit and a Fox are just appropriate, and if you think there were some unhappy customers about the llama taking a precious slot in South America, have Frontier hire extra security if an Oceania/Australia DLC takes two slots for this animals. Now that i think about it, I might have a nightmare tonight thinking of this scenario.

No worries, I am neither form Estonia nor do I prefer European DLC to Aussie 😁

I figured out I'm in wrong in the meantime

Glad you did not take offense, as none was intended, and like I mention before, there is absolutely no dough that at some point we will get either a European specific DLC or maybe something a bit different that showcases fauna from this continent. There is the timed challenge scenario base on Estonia though, and that is in itself an incredible achievement in my opinion. Out of all the countries in the world, to make it into an actual scenario, good for them, it is a beautiful country.

I wonder what prize we would get for completing the timed scenario. Maybe some animal from the country scenario is taking it’s place.
Like if it is Estonia we could get Moose, Beaver, Otter, Red fox, Roe deer, Wild boar or Lynx. That could be just great
European fauna is amazing and has really a lot to offer :)

That would be awful. Many Planet Zoo players do not care for the challenges and play just for the creative building aspect. If there was content exclusive to those who preferred the challenge, then it would basically be forcing those of us who use the game as a means of relaxing and as a creative outlet to take part in competitive-esque gameplay or otherwise miss out.

Zoo Tycoon 2 tried this with the quagga, and it was literally within a few days of Extinct Animals coming out that someone had released a hack/mod to make the quagga available to anyone from the get-go.

I agree with this completely as I’ve said elsewhere, there shouldn’t be any significant game content that is only accessible via challenges.
