Eucalyptus tree on the screenshot - High probability of australian DLC 😁

Actually not that scary, more annoying. :p

You're hearing it from the comfort of your device. Imagine being an early settler and hearing that echoing through the woods or valley. That's the reason they're called 'devils' after all (also I think FoxyDee was suggesting Halloween because of the name - "devil". Halloween is considered by some to be the "devil's holiday").

Nah, I just don't get scared easily when it comes to animals. (for example: Spiders/snakes/bugs/aggressive animals)
Like I said, it's more an annoying sound - can't imagine most people getting scared over that scream/sound.
On the other hand i've seen some people getting their a severe case of phobia just from a tarantula photo, so I can imagine nowadays some people could consider this scary.

When some very small groups consider this as a devil holiday, I don't pay much attention to it. Mostly people who try to ruin Halloween for others :p
(a local group tried to do this last Halloween - not celebrated in the Netherlands but in recent years I've seen several parties being hosted)

Even so, a while ago when a Halloween DLC was suggested - most people didn't like it.

I'll stop posting about this :D Way off-topic and the original OP situation changed a lot in recent days.

That doesn't factor into it. If you were some likely-uneducated farmer from rural England staking a claim to land in Tasmania in the mid-18th Century, you probably wouldn't have such bravado. You'd hear an unearthly scream coming from the depths of the woods and it would send a chill down your spine, same as everyone else. Most people don't even believe in "the devil" these days but back then that's where your mind would go.

Don't discredit other opinions like that. That's just being silly.
I don't think it's scary - if you think it's scary that's fine - just don't try to lecture me. We have a different opinion on this one.

Personally I don't even care what was considered scary or normal a few hundred years ago or even 50 years ago.
That would be an endless discussion.

I didn't. I merely pointed out a fallacy. Nobody in this day and age would find it "scary" because anybody who knows anything about Tasmanian fauna would probably be able to make an educated guess as to what it was. That's my point - you, like everyone else, knows what it is, therefore it isn't scary. You don't need to get defensive.
