Evacuations and Fines...WHY?

I'm new to ED and this is actually my first post in the forums. I play solo exclusively because I enjoy playing the game at my own pace. Like any other game, this one has it's odd quirks. Like being limited to only jumping to the primary star in a system. Going into cruise assist about 300LS out from a base and watching your throttle floor it inexplicably, causing an over shoot. One is probably just a game engine design flaw, the other is me being a newb and learning the nuances of flying. I'm okay with those.

But there's one thing in this game that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever: Getting fined while trying to land in a burning station. DUMB.

When the Thargoid attack happened, I fired up my fairly new Type-9 and headed for the nebula to make some credits. I don't really need credits, but why pass up on the opportunity?

During my first run I was literally a second from touchdown and boom, there's an explosion and I get thrown off the pad. No worries, I had plenty of heat sinks so I pop one and try again. Of course, I was just about lined up again and another explosion throws me off the pad. I pop another heat sink and finally set it down. However, once I get below deck I find out I've been fined for blocking and can't evacuate passengers.

How does this make any sense???? Honestly, in real life, would a base commander see me get thrown off by two explosions and say, "Screw this pilot, fine him and don't allow him to take 152 people off this burning base to safety!!!!!" Really? Adding insult to injury, it's a paltry 300 credits which makes it feel really minor. So not only did I fly out empty handed, I had to pay for fuel, repairs and heat sinks, plus a petty fine that in RL could mean the death of passengers. Most importantly, it was the explosions that cased the fine and that's RNG.

So here's my suggestions:

1) Remove fines for evacuation missions on these burning bases. At least in solo mode.
2) Allow the pilots to pick up evacuees and pay the fine back at the rescue ship. If the fine isn't paid, then don't grant permission to dock when that pilot returns.

I think fines are stupid in this scenario. A normal station, sure I get it, but emergency evacuations to try and save lives? Makes no sense at all...none.

I agree it seems silly, i mean i think its silly that they even assign landing pads in the exploding stations and it isn't just "land open one the first one that fits" but at a guess, the mechanic for it is too deeply embedded inside the code for stations/landing pads to easily remove.

Hold up. We've had these station rescue missions for years and they still haven't fixed the fining issue?

I am shocked. Shocked I tell you.
Apparently, although you DON'T get fined for firing off heatsinks, so it seems some fines apply and others dont.

Hence why i think the fine mechanics are burried nin some old piece of legacy code.
