EVE is in crisis. Time to finish them and grab their players!

Our prime contender is in trouble.
FD must act now! Need to announce player driven economy, crafting and territorial claim ASAP.
Most of EVE players enough with lastest P2W stuff and they easly change the side.

For The Mug!

If EVE players want to buy ED then cool... But I absolutely don't want FD to change their game to try to pander to them. EVE is EVE elite is elite.

I enjoy elite and backed it precisely because it was Elite IV and wasn't aiming to be Eve (a game I respect but I tried and really do not like).

Personally if FD want to look at a game with a good economy I would rather it be the X series which shows a game does not have to be player driven to have a robust and interesting economy.

And as for player claiming territory , you are asking FD to do a bait and switch and do something they promised they were not interested in ED would undoubtedly have failed KSer if they had gone in with that stuff.... As it was it only just made it through with a few days to spare

It is ok for 2 games to have different core values and speak to slightly different gamers (even if there is overlap,)

I've got nothing against EVE players coming over to Elite: Dangerous. But if what you want is to turn Elite: Dangerous into another version of EVE in order to do so - no thanks.

In any event - we already have territorial claim through player factions and their ability to expand their influence within their home system and beyond. We already have a player driven economy, in a fashion, as player trading can influence faction influence - AND fleet carrier owners can set prices for materials that they may wish to buy or sell (with limitations). And we already have crafting, of sorts, through engineering (albeit not a manufacturing style of crafting to be sure).

How is EVE in trouble?

Apparently they've been sold!

Pearl Abyss, a notorious P2W game developer has purchased CCP, queue portents of disaster.

To tell the truth I play Black Desert Online and as long as you stay away from the pearl store it's not bad, you don't have to be PvP competitive to enjoy it, lets hope they don't nuke EVE.

"ASAP" in Frontier's case probably means "at least five years after the release of Odyssey" for one feature of that size and you want three? Nice try.

Elite Dangerous has nowhere enough players compared with the size of the game world to make a player-driven economy work anyway; the few occasions where the players have collectively managed to drive the NPC economy a long way from equilibrium have been interesting events but have usually also led to masses of complaints that it shouldn't be possible to drive the NPC economy out of equilibrium, which probably doesn't encourage Frontier to go further down that route.

Is this something new? I thought it was a few years ago...

Didn't you know? EVE is dying since 2003 🤷‍♂️

--

Elite and EVE are different games. It's like saying "Hurry up, NBA2Ksomething is dying, FIFA should go grab their players". I've played and enjoyed EVE since 2004 for different reasons than I play and enjoy Elite now. There are parts of EVE I would love to see in Elite as well, but other parts that would drive me away from Elite asap.

There's a reason Elite has become my all-time favorite space game and not EVE (or my beloved X-Series, RIP :( )

According to your words EVE is dying. And you want to make ED more like EVE. Do you want ED to die? 0_o

All I would ever want from EVE transferred to Elite are ship specializations with different bonuses and traits depending on their role.

That's all.
