Has a single system been flipped yet to the Alliance, or any major faction yet?

Managed to obtain the Alioth permit today, having achieved Allied status. I'm going to be doing what I can through peaceful means though, combat where necessary. However my primary objective in the game, is that whilst a subscriber to the core ethics of the Alliance, I'm attempting to sustain Allied status with all three of the majors.

So I now have the Alioth permit and I am allied with Alioth Independents, but my status with the Alliance itself is still neutral. (Annoyingly my status with the Federation is friendly. I don't know how that happened, I certainly wasn't trying for it!)
What's the best way to improve my standing with the Alliance? Keep doing AI missions? Or missions for any Alliance affiliated faction? Does it matter which?

I was friendly with the Alliance just prior to getting my Alioth permit, then I made a couple of stupid newbie mistakes during the last couple of missions I did, and forgot to go silent on entering the station with stolen goods, so I went back to neutral. I got my permit, and for the next few weeks, did bounty hunting in Alliance systems, traded, and did a couple missions, finally got friendly again. The missions I did were for any of the alliance based local factions work just fine.

I'm pretty sure that if you do lots of missions/trading with Alliance stations/factions then you'll become friendly again. Though from what I've seen it may take a while!
Just do missions for Alliance factions, hand in Alliance bounties, trade with Alliance stations. All helps with the reputation (missions work best), but then there isn't really a lot to gain from the reputation. Just play the game for the Alliance, and the allied status will come sooner or later.
