I did last night, the sequence of failures that should have told me I am too tired to be playing. First up was a plan to do some engineering after checking I had enough mats to do some higher rolls. Make my way down 300lys, park and start rolling. Made it with 1 roll left to max, then realised I had not engineered the right module. Doh! On top of that I transfer my Python with 45min wait to the wrong engineer, so deciding not to dwell on my idiot behavior and travel home.

Ah there are still a few hours before bed, lets gather some mats on the way out to Maia to see Palin. Can get a few rolls in on a Clean Drive mod at least to close out the evening on a positive & pin the blueprint for later. After 30mins of finding nothing really worth collecting on a random rock, I jump back into the ship and arrive at Maia.

Level 4 Clean Drives will do nicely, thank you. I leave and get 5 jumps out before I remember I did not pin the blueprint. Ah, past the PONR now & its getting late so I soldier on. One jump from Shintara, and find out why everyone says white dwarfs are dangerous, getting sucked in on a bad scoop attempt in a death spiral as I watch my oxygen expire. Tried as I might I could not escape (is it even possible?). Boom! Think its time to log off...

Bit frustrating, but all in a good nights fun in my books & made me have a good laugh at myself. And on the plus side, I can remember to pin the blueprint this bloody time round!

Can one scoop white dwarfs? I had no idea. My typical response is to slam on the brakes and avoid the tail on the way out.

Think that will be my response too now! You can get the FSD boost from them but its not as big of a jump as you get from Neutron stars, and certainly seems more dangerous.

My last dumb mistake - while under heavy fire and about to lose shields - was powering up the spare SCB before powering down the other one. This while under attack from at least one Conda and a mob of Vultures. Power capacity exceeded, modules offline, boom. In a Corvette.

The only small relief was that I was trying out a new potential NPC pilot who was still only harmless. My Deadly pilot was back at the station crew room flicking through magazines. Er - sorry about that, new NPC pilot.

Nah man that's how I play all the time! I have only just come away from a pointless submission to interdiction. Found myself against a python in my mk3viper. I failed to negate his reverski and despite the feds turning up I had to bug out with a busted canopy. Fixed the canopy but didn't have the mats so my oxygen ran out, 7ls away from my nearest station, which I missed the chance to drop out of SC first time, so did my yeehah I'm in a spaceship circle and ended up dead.

By the way I LOVE THIS GAME...and it was an NPC in the python. Jokes right!?!

One of those nights... I once worked on ranking up with the wrong engineer, thought it was Marco but I was actually doing the grind for the Alioth factions to get to Bill Turner whom I could care less about. I was so mad at myself when I noticed that mistake! Hell, I didn't want Marco anyway, I just wanted to get Palin!

I've been flying around mat hunting for the last few days and the HGEs haven't been too easy to come by. Then, the night before last, I dropped into a War state, high pop Fed system and they were falling like rain. I found at least a dozen in 2 hours. Maxed out my Core Dynamics composites, Got like 80 Proprietary, 50 Mil Alloys and Mil super capacitors. Amazing night for sure.
