Every once in a while, navigation plots a course that is incredible. (Not in a good way.)

Every now and then, I will plot the fastest course via the galaxy map. I see the numerous jumps. I switch to forward view, hit the jump button, and get the max fuel exceeded error message. On closer inspection of my target reticle, I see my target is set to the destination some 109 LY away. No kidding my fuel is exceeded! Going back to the galaxy map, switching to economical route, and back to fastest, corrects to the actual first jump point on the projected flight path. Weird.

Anyone else ever had this happen?

its happened to me 2x this week now , im sitting in station an switch to gal map , pick my destination , check how many jumps and set off ... max jump range exceeded , back to map and clear out navigation then select again.

I dont faff about with toggles on gal map when travelling either its defo a nav computer error.

Yes. When I've selected the destination by accident, instead of plotting route to it. Maybe that's what you did? :)

Not an issue here with me , i always plot route unless im travelling in-system. Also it wouldnt show multiple jumps if this was the issue but can understand its easy to do.

Had this a few times when I plotted the route before fueling up. The added weight then made the first jump impossible.

Anyway, never trust the nav computer. Since mine tried to send me on fumes to a system from which there would have been no escape, I keep checking the route frequently, install an extra tank before traveling and never let it get lower than a quarter before scooping.
