Every ship setting should be available through the HUD

I don't have a HOTAS, and even if I did, I don't play often enough to remember all buttons.

Therefore, it is very frustrating that some commonly used settings, like retracting weapons for example, cannot be controlled via the various HUDs.

You will remember, because muscle memory takes a long time to fade once it's established and it doesn't take that long to establish in a normal, health human.

Or get voice attack. That way all you need to do is say retract weapons, etc

Yeah, but does the OP play enough to remember the commands? ;)

Op has a point because you are essentially telling them to learn to touch-type which is the only way to do it if you don't have everything on a top-end HOTAS. An xbox controller would help but it still has limits.

Galaxy map is a nightmare in VR when you can't see the keyboard to type the name of where you want to go next.

A VR keyboard is something I've wanted and posted about a few times. But despite Frontier saying this is an AAA title for VR, extras like this which would really improve things aren't given priority, presumably because the VR user base is very small versus standard monitor users.

But for the OP, VoiceAttack will automate common commands as per the requirement, and it's really cheap to register the software.

I know of two VR keyboards already available. Why should the FDevs reinvent the wheel? Frankly, I'd rather them focus on 2.1 and fixing the Vive than doing a VR keyboard few people would actually use.

The only viable option, at the moment, is voice attack.

Doesn't have to be 'top-end'! Plenty of good value HOTAS option out there. And I'm not telling him to touch type. That's just silly.

The G map isn't a problem with HOTAS and VA.

How do you know few would use it? Have you asked everyone?
