Newcomer / Intro every signal source is empty

Hi,

like I wrote in the topic, every signal source is empty.

When I find a USS, I change to the navigation menu and choose it as a target. I slow down and when I am nerby I leave the frameshift and jump back.
And then, nothing happen! :(

No cargo containers, no ships, no pirates..., anything.
Anything to see in the contacs menu.
Sometimes I fly around a little bit, but anything happen, or I'm just hanging around. Boring...
I just tried to find somebody I have to hunt down. But after passing more the 10 empty USS, I'm really disappointed.

So, where is the mistake? What am I doing wrong?

Regards Gloin

Hey Gloin

Don't Panic!! :)

Thats not working correctly!

Are you sure you are dropping when the HUD says 'Safe Disengage Ready' ?
Have you relogged/tried in a different playmode? (change playmode by hitting esc and save to main menu, then restart in solo, open etc)
Try jumping out of system then back in?
Connection problem with matchmaking server?

I think you might find your pirate targets dropping into Navs if the target system has one iirc...

Good Luck and hang in there - it's a great game but the curve can be steep!

I'm currently only playing a Solo game.

I jumped out of the system and back again, anything different. I have never had a uss with anything in it. Everytime I drop out of the frameshift I'm less than 10 km far away from the USS. And then anything happen.
That's really frustrating, especially because I was looking forward to this game more than a year. ;)

If you ware doing it correctly you should be unable to "see" USS anymore.
You need to lock on to it, get below 1Mm and 1Mm/s and you should see blue "safe disengage redy" where your radar is.
Then exit FSD.

Yepp.
That's what I'm doing.
Under 1 Million Kilometers, I see "Safe disengage". I reduce my speed down to the minimum and jump back just at the end.
After the exit out of FSD I just could see on the left side the the uss is 5 or 10 kilomter far away but I couldn't see it in the nav menu or contact menu anymore.
I have just tried to change from solo to open game, still the same. :(

Are you able to fly to a starport and dock?

Do exactly the same to enter a USS. Approach it like you would any starport, treat it exactly the same.

One million kilometers? That's not right at all. A megameter is only a thousand kilometers. A million kilometers is a gigameter, which is well over a light second. I'll just assume you misunderstood what Mm stood for, which is megameters, and that you're under one megameter when you exit supercruise. If this is the case, then you're likely doing everything right.

You mentioned that the signal is 5-10 kilometers away when you exit supercruise, right? If I'm not mistaken, the default sensor's range is 4 kilometers, which means you'll have to get closer to the signal to detect any contacts. If that doesn't help, I don't know what will.

Sounds like you're missing the USS.
.
The second you see the "Safe to Disengage" message, hit your Frameshift button to drop you out - don't take the time to reduce your speed after you get the message.
.
As mentioned by Goro, if you hit the USS, you won't be able to see the yellow target ring any more (and you'll drop out of supercruise in close proximity to 1 or more NPCs).

That has been the solution. I started hitting the disengage-button immediately and it worked. Thanks a lot :D

Now I have another topic with a federal dropship but that's another story. ;)

Happy to see you worked it out, in every USS I 've visited there is allwas something not always a NPC, but then at least some leftover containers with different kinds of goods in them, some of them are "military plans" or "black boxes" and even "Slaves" those you can use in some iligal missions you can pick up on the spacestaions in the BB..

Anyway good luck and have fun with the game Cmdr... ;)
