Every single dam system I jump into is empty - "loading simulation"

Probably well documented in the issue tracker I imagine - currently out in the black exploring. Jump into a system, do the honk and it comes back and says "36 bodies" whatever.

Go to the system map and the whole dam system in empty with a spinner "loading simulation" at the top.

Was hoping this would be fixed with update 5.

Seems not. Game is literally unplayable right now as far as I'm concerned - I can't explore.

Is there a known workaround for this for the time being until this absolute debacle of a release is fixed?

Maybe it is on your side? I have had none of this. Sounds similar to a system full of FCs. Anyways try this:

Boot in Horizons
Jump to another system
Try EDO again

or

Do not go to supercruise. Just jump to a different system and try again

like the first reply said, you have to use the fss scanner to "discover" the objects. or you have to fly up near them in supercruise.

once "discovered" they will appear in the system map.

it's been like that for a very long time now (since the fss was added).

Is this yet another who hasn't heard of the FSS? 🤔

so why are some systems I'm jumping into already populated on the system map without me having to do that?

try fss scanning it works honking isnt the way to do it,you hvve to do a full scan, years ago you had to fly around looking for planets it took hrs,now its easy, good luck

Just scanned Aurai with FSS... the third or fourth time over the last month... I still cannot pin the conditions that cause the behavior, what I can tell you - I "died" in this system a bazillion times doing on-foot missions, and one of those scenarios definitely causes a system reset ("missing bodies", loading simulation, etc.) and forces me to rescan again.

Ever since the Odyssey release, this has been happening to me in random systems. First I was not sure, ya know - "what a heck? I've been here before". Now that I am trying to finish the engineering of my suits and weapons, I've been grinding mats in the same location long enough to realize, that it is not my mind playing tricks on me

Wondering how is this not a problem? Sorry, if this is already caught somewhere else (other thread), just searched for "loading simulation" - a major annoyance which implies that if you wait long enough it would probably load the entire system map again.......

Thoughts? Outsmarts? Downvotes/upvotes?

After honk, you know how many bodies there are (21 for example). The left panel shows 3 meteor belts (for example) .. you enter system map, you see one star, and one meteor belt and a few planets .. I don't think this is consequent gameplay .. all the reported issues are marked 'expired', they could at least classify it as 'by design', if it really is.

Really, you are just demonstrating that you don't know how the exploration system works ever since the FSS and DSS were introduced. What you describe is not a game bug it is how it works.

Are you making sure to sell the system data before you "die" because if that happens you won't get the system data recorded and you will have to rescan every time you enter the system.

I have not had this happen after selling the system data to UC, but I have if I die before I do that!

well hard to say where was the mistake, but at least I think that I know the basic game mechanics after so many years, as you can see thou my post was from last summer and now I do not really actually remember the circumstances... somebody responded lately and it popped again

I think all of this topic of "loading simulation" was around the fact that I saw people rotating the System Map view after "loading" was finished, and I never could figure out how it is done

mind you, I practically use HOTAS exclusively and I start mapping from an empty set (no default controls), I think this might be the contributor I have no idea what to turn on for it to work - but ain't that a beauty of ED? :)

That's fair enough, but I always find asking the basic questions first often saves a lot of time. Many times I have found myself spending hours on a problem only to find in the end it was something I completely ignored because it was so obvious I didn't bother to check.....have fun (y)

absolutely agreed and appreciate the question as sometimes basic checks and balances are needed, it is way too easy to miss something fundamental, just the point is... I do not even remember the origin of my comment etc.

it sometimes feels like I am too old for all of this, or just being lately hammered with real-life "events" I have no focus on ED and have been trying to pretend that everything is alright. No matter what I do however, looks like I need a break, and it is going to be a long one... (conflicting priorities)
