Every system/planet i go, the only brain tree i see is Polyporous Growths

I have been searching multiple planets over different systems looking for different mats and for the last 5 systems I've been to the only brain trees that spawns all around the planet are Polyporous Growths

There's no way this is just crap RNG or something, am i doing something wrong? Yesterday i was doing the same and all types of brain trees were spawning in...

I've already tried relogging, restarting, leave the planet then restart and land again and its still the same... pretty annoying tbh

Perhaps this?

Drat. Well, it's good to have some independent testing. That was the only thing I changed when I started to find them.

Guess it's time to diversify.

Try this; go to one of the planet's poles, and try landing there, and then at about 10% intervals moving towards the equator. The new exobiology code creates different biomes, it's possible that certain stuff only drops in certain places. Especially try landing in craters, on the side away from the equator. Maybe there are temperature factors, so try places in shade and in sunlight, for example. And especially try landing in different geographic zones.

It somehow got fixed not sure how tho, im at Synuefe NU-M d8-37, planet A 7 A(where i am) and A 7 B are right next to each other (around 3MM apart) after i made this post i went to A 7 B, landed, same problem, only polyporous, came back to A 7 A landed and now the other brain trees appeared, although there's still way more polyporous growths than the other type at least others are beginning to spawn something's definitely not right with how brain trees are spawning 🤷‍♂️

HR 3230 - Planet 3AA is another popular location... usually a few fleet carriers around that planet so it's easy to spot. all grades...

I visited there about a week ago, and the first Brain Tree forest I found had all types of spawn. After fungineering a new ship I went back today to restock, and the planet's turned 100% Polyporous for me; have tried multiple areas of the planet/day/night/relogging/relaunching. I have not changed any game options in the interim. I've always had Checkerboard rendering on.

Couldn't spot anything on the subject in the issue tracker, so for the deuce of it I raised a ticket if anyone wants to hop on and confirm:

Rejoice. You probably need to travel a couple 100 ly to find the next region with other stuff. Or you find the rare outlier that spawns randomly who knows where. End result is the same - lots of time wasted.

Just a thought, maybe you had something else open in the background? If it is indeed a matter of Hardware throttling, then having something else taking up some of your processing power could have caused the issue.

Interesting. I'm running Geforce Now on a Shield TV so I doubt there's much variation on my side, but load balancing/throttling could be happening on the virtualised platform at Nvidia's end. This would be transparent to me, I think, but I must say I haven't noticed good or bad performance days - if I can launch the game at all then the performance is consistently OK.

Maybe, but cannot. I found the 4 different growth on the trees on planets, but when I visit back in later time at these same places then
there are only Polyporous. So before were diversity and at same place some weeks or months later only the Polyporous.

I raised a ticket for this, It will be fine if people can contribute there:

This probably has nothing to do with performance, but rather a poorly chosen PRNG function that gets stuck spitting out the same value when a particular seed is used.

I've just been to HR 3230 3 a a and I'm experiencing this problem. Nothing but Polyporous Growths no matter what I do. Chequerboard rendering is active. I just want some damn Selenium! :(

The most frustrating thing is that I originally turned on Chequerboard Rendering a while back and it fixed the issue, but now it doesn't seem to work at all.

Try exploring different biomes.

Might be a daft question, but how do I know when I have moved from one biome to another?
Mostly based on geography. For example, a crater might be a different biome from a plain, and mountains would also be different. I'm not sure if there's an intentional rule or if it's just an accident, but there does seem to be some sort of biome related effect.
