Every time I log off, it's due to not having fun!

Unfortunately, everything you said is true in my experience. When a game corrals you into a grind because it lacks the content to inspire you, it really ceases to be a medium of entertainment. There aren't enough ships, there aren't enough reasons to get other ships, and there aren't enough sources of income to justify the expenses of the current selection of ships.

There are plenty of ships (many of which you think are not viable for use which is clearly incorrect) and more to come.

The game is only 2 months old. Anyone who checked the forum was aware is was not complete. If there isn't enough in the game for your tastes then you can always come back and check after each update. It isn't as if you are paying a sub for it each month.

I've upgraded my Cobra with pretty much A class everything, the ship is worth about 8 million, but getting to the next "rung" in the ship "ladder" means either hundreds of hours of grind, killing ships with 20k bounties, or selling the Cobra for a Type x and climbing the ladder via trading, which I just don't want to do.

Nah, get yourself 20/30t of rares in your hold and start doing 140LY back and forth runs in your cobra, you'll make enough for an asp quickly. Once you've got the asp you can continue to do 80t of rares and kit it out remarkably quickly.

From the asp up, yeah it's a bit of a trading grind
