Everybody's doing it...

...so I'm going to as well. Whine that is.

I'm getting sick and tired of the people that say "Elite could be a great game if only FD would do X"! (Substitute X for their personal peeve).

Well, I'm here to tell you people that you are entirely, totally and utterly wrong.

Elite is a great game and it's going to get better!

Just my opinion.

Yeah but if they just had more NPC audio dialogue and more interesting missions and less bugs and a working multi-crew addon and less planets that looked like giant Cheetos cheese balls and more interesting passenger missions with passengers that actually had a personality and could actually talk and the dash had a "No Smoking" button and "Fasten Seatbelts" with that little "Ding" "Ding" sound and I had an intercom that I could communicate with the passengers and my crew had their own escape pods and there were better paint jobs available and the docking computer didn't crash into the station ... and... and... well you know... better...

My opinion:

Some things are needlessly grindy, game seems to be made for 24hr a day folks.

Ships should be price based, not rank based. Grinding for rank is needless outside of permits and ships.

Donation missions for Cr are just a grind mechanism. You make money, they take it in a donation. You think it's going to reward you with rank or something, but it's just a grind.

Conflict zone ships all attack me as soon as I pick a side, and it seems there are no allies who do anything but watch. (yeah yeah, get gud engineers level 5 whatever)

The good old days when the exotic weapons were only plasma type thinggies. Then came prismatics and from there it became a kluge of chess type loadouts and now the battle front is just blue flashes and chaff starbursts left and right, my poor lasers are worthless as are my shields.

Cobra cannot jump if my Annie is next to it but somehow it can pull me out of FTL travel.

Res sites are largely empty

I hate to rely on re-instance for improved game play.

Station commodity prices don't make much sense (nor do supply levels). You're on the edge of a metal rich ring, station has no metals.

Commodities outside of the big 3 or 4 are only good for charity missions, now for engineers but those are never in supply. No one hauls food cartridges for anything meaningful outside of CG or some large payout mission.

Speed limits in and around stations are worthless in Solo. I've never come close to contact another ship and I go in and out under boost speeds.

Stations 40 real minutes away from the stars with nothing useful once you get there, only serve as targets for "gotcha" missions that you didn't check the galaxy map on before you accepted. "Hey, deliver stacked missions of food cartridges totaling several million for a 7LY jump? Sha!" "Oh great, 40 minutes of no longer playing the game. Great game mechanic.

Feels like (maybe wrongly so) that all the real money making opportunities turn out to be exploits or bugs and get nerfed. Go Go Gadget Grinder
