There was a time where PC was known for providing the superior gaming experience, the best graphics, the best gameplay, the best games.

But time has passed and nowadays, while PC are still better from a hardware perspective, It does not really provide better games than consoles.

I've just finished watching some of the games announced for PS4, NX and Xbox for the next year and I must say I'm impressed.

Horizon Zero Dawn, the new god of war, the new Halo Wars, PREY, Detroit become human, Robinson the journey ( VR ).

I see all those games, and wonder, if PC are still relevant.

God I see all the PC exclusives for next year, and besides SCORN which is still a big question mark, there is not a single game that would justify having to spend 500€ in a graphic card, or around 2000€ for a gaming PC.

Even Elite is available on Xbox and soon on PS4, the latter will even provide VR, and graphics are on par with what the PC can offer.

So I ask you, what is the point ?

I'm really starting to question myself if I would not be better spending 1/4 of what I would spend for a new rig on a PS4 for the same if not better gaming experience.

As far as I'm concerned, specialist seem to have nailed the gaming market when they said that PC gaming is dead, we should move on.

I almost vomited reading your thread title.......

just no....I came away from 30 years of console gaming to the world of pc....my eyes were made to open up and see games as they are meant to be.

I personally like mods,hotas,headtracking,proper vr,voice attack....hell its open source!...whats not to like?

the minute consoles actually come with decent hardware inside that isn't underpowered just to hang around a market to make more money from sheep,then I may change my mind.

personally I was gutted when the xbox boys got our game........from there I knew we would have to have platform similarity and it would be all downhill from there......they got the console drones in for extra funds....cool in idea.....bad in reality for this games evolution.
they may aswell release a Atari 2600 version for the giggles eh

Start playing some high fidelity flight sims or gaming at a high resolution, maybe even 4k and then go play a console and there the answer you will find.

I agree about the games per-se but if you want better resolution, frame rates etc, then consoles just don't stack up, not yet anyway.

Not this nutshell again.

What do you think your console games are written on, I would go the xbox route if you didn't have the subscription Internet model. Pcs still are free to play over the net so that's where I will stay for now :)

Over a long time a console uses up your money more due to high average cost of games and less major sales opportunities (no humble bundle).

A console is harder to watch you tube while at the same time doing that trade run.

Way more accessories for PC.

I no how to repair my PC if a part breaks.
