EVGA gtx 1060 3G ram?

Hello CMDRS

I was wondering has anyone have any experience with this video card and occulus rift for ED or would the minimum be 1070 for Med to High graphics and at least 60 fps or do you need more for smooth VR

No, I have the Zotac 1070 extreme myself but I`d imagine the 3gb vram would be very limiting and not too future proof. Might be better off saving a bit extra for the 1070 with its 8gb vram.

Sorry cant answer the VR Q as I don`t have VR, but pascal has new tech such as Single Pass Stereo & Simultaneous Multi-Projection architecture that should make the 1070 twice as fast as the 980ti for VR purposes when implemented in the near future. I would say again that I think 3gb vram is just too small for future needs and is currently on the edge of whats required.

Proper VR has to support 90FPS, not 60 for best experience.

No video card out today can do that with Ultra settings with everything maxed so you need to find what works best for you by fiddling with your settings.
