EVO Discussing the possibility or need of a JWE3

"The community is divided on whether Jurassic World Evolution 2 needs a new sequel. While most people are open to a Jurassic World Evolution 3 and think it is needed, a lot of other people think a second sequel would be pointless. In this video we discuss the future of Jurassic World Evolution 2 and the possibility of Jurassic World Evolution 3." -EVO

I am in the camp of keeping JWE2 supported for a good, long time. I do realize the constraints of the game, but it is a game that has so much more potential. Games like the Planet series, Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo have had a chance to grow organically. I would like this game to be given that chance.

But, at the same time when the time comes, a JWE3 would be an exciting prospect. Hopefully not for awhile. I think we as players of the current game have made a good investment in this game. And it would be nice to ride this all the way thru. What do you all think?

Honestly, I don't believe it to ever happen.

NO. The reasons are not because of no new movie confirmed, because it isn't necessary standard to use, it's just an advantage they decide whether it's good to exploit. It's not even because I believe, "JWE2 is all we need, I don't want it to happen because Y, X, and Z! Ah-ha-haaa!"

It's because, from my observations and studies of Frontier's style on how they approached and treated both JWE games and everything in them (in-game) and around them (behind the scenes), as well as what basic game industry development knowledge I do have and learned from an actual AAA industry developer, it's not something Frontier would realistically do. Especially not with a huge Hollywood owned IP.

Frontier has also already confirmed the FY25 game is an "own-IP CMG" in their latest Interim report, which they publish every January. While the FY26 game is still in scoping stages. Which means, even though it's something already set in motion, actual development hasn't started yet. A game based on another owner's IP needs to be greenlit first, and because of Frontier's style, any sort of hint in their RNS reports would've already been made by now, just like they did for JWE1 in February of 2017, or JWE2 in March, 2019.

On top of all of that, I've seen far too many "perfect dream wishes" for the wildest creative and most realistic, immersive animal zoo or park building sim game or sequel in the world, in my whole life. Including for both JWE games and Planet Zoo. A majority of the time, only a handful of those "perfect game wish ideas, no matter how basic, major, or minor they are" ever come true elsewhere, including here in JWE2. This is no different from Evolution Square because a lot of times, stuff like this from people on the internet ends up being too good to be true, no matter how great, sensible, or popular it sounds. Just take a look at JWE2's dreams and wishes between 2019 and 2021, and you'll see what I mean.

What bothers me most about JWE2 are the dinosaurs themselves. Although the way they explore the enclosures is more dynamic. Lacking complexity in the behavior of dinosaurs, in general, each species has only one socialization animation. And the combat is very monotonous... Only a more modern engine could handle new mechanics and more complex behaviors. That would mean a third game. In my opinion, maintaining support for older platforms like PS4 and Xbox One greatly limits what the game can offer. If there is a third game (something that I believe should happen in 2 or 3 years) it should release only on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Eventually the new consoles go on sale, even in my country, where everything is expensive. However it is worth putting together money a few months to buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X. Personally if there is a JWE3, it should only launch on PC, but as I know that not everyone who can have a powerful PC, there could be a port to PS5 and Xbox Series X. A more powerful engine can support not only several species of dinosaurs, but rather new, more complex and immersive mechanics. Dinosaurs more interactive with each other, more interactive in their environment. A balance in combat mechanics, interspersed between Territorial Fights without death and violent fights with death. More variety of social interactions by species, dinosaurs smelling the environment and exploring the fences with greater vivacity, climbing on rocks, swimming mechanics, gender mechanics and reproduction. different vocalizations with different purposes. In short, dinosaurs more alive than ever are much more complex. With the current engine I'm afraid this won't be possible, only a third game with a new engine could handle all of this. See what complex PZ is. And why? Because it runs on a more modern engine. I'm not going to comment on Universal Studios' copyright content limitation issue, because that's not the focus of the discussion, and eventually they may change their minds about some content.

Apart from the dinosaurs, the building and terrain mechanics are still limited, and it would be great to have more scope for building on different types of terrain, not just flat terrain. The buildings... we can't see inside, that's sad. The problem is that redoing all the building mechanics from scratch in JWE2 doesn't seem very likely. A new game is more feasible because then you can improve several aspects as a whole (building mechanics and dinosaur mechanics/behavior). JWE2 is a good game, but it was still made with the old generation of consoles in mind. In a few years, the vast majority of JW fans will be using the new generation consoles, so I don't see a problem with a JWE3. Obviously I wouldn't expect it next year, and would think of it as a project to be released in 2025 or 2026. Well... that's my opinion.

I think there should be a sequel eventually, just definetly not in the next few years. Mainly because of these 2 Factors:
1. Needs to release with a new movie, which probably won't come for a while.

2. Will probably need more advanced consoles if it is to run on them, cause it being a PC Exclusive game probably wouldn't do well with sales.

They will also need to make alot of big jumps, like baby dinosaurs, more of pretty much everything, include almost every dinosaur from everywhere in the JP Franchsise(including body variants and skins), Heck even a massive one like a modular building system (This would probably be too far, and if they did add this it should be an option).

I also think they should lean more towards making it a planet game, but then again how would they do that without losing the Jurassic Franchise side of it?

Basically, definetly not in the next few years, and maybe not at all.
