Exact Ascendancy & Mandalay release date?

Hi Frontier.

In a recent post you said that the release date of the Ascendancy & Mandalay update will be pushed back "to the week commencing 28th October." Could you clarify if you intend to release on 28th October or sometime during the week of 28th October? If the latter, could you give us an idea of what day of next week you plan to release the update?

Thanks and can't wait to start PowerPlay 2.0 with a shiny new red Mandalay!

"Week commencing" is fairly self-explanatory, I'd have thought.

But, FD will release it when they are ready, not a moment sooner, nor a moment later...

A reputation is a hard thing to break. They have missed or rescheduled most of their published dates since day one. This is one of the reasons that they are intentionally vague. It’s a sign of poor leadership and poor management. No doubt, people will chime in on “how hard it is, blah blah blah” but in the end, a professional organization should be able to set realistic schedules AND achieve them. It’s just become ok to be unable to do that, so don’t expect a sudden change in their performance.

Hopeful me thinks that we might see an announcement with a date tomorrow.

As I mentioned in another thread, there's also FU scheduled for next week, and I hope that Ascendancy is released before the stream, as that would give them even more topics to discuss (and significantly less salt on the stream chat ).

To be fair, and amazingly, everyone seems jazzed up for PP2 so unless its a PP1 extinction level event only a disappointing new feature announcement would dampen things.

Whats even more incredible is...what if the new feature is also good? Can the forums deal with such a burst of positivity?

Having been a programmer for over 30 years, I can confidently say that "The week commencing 28 Oct" means 2 Nov. (Saturday is the last day of the week)

I'd bet a nickle that it'll be a "tad" late, though.

I would bet on morning of Tu, 29 or latest We, 30.
Otherwise at 30 evening they have monthly Unlocked and taking into account that Community already close to the boiling point thus risk of having comments under Live full of "sh..up and take my money!" and "where is Mandalay?!" is too high.

Who cares about the positivity? The player base is so wide that, no matter what is being introduced, somebody* will not like it.
And their comments is what I will be looking forward to reading (for entertainment, if anything)!
