Exception initialising application

A week ago game was working fine and since yesterday when I try to launch the game I get this error message.

" Exception initialising application: Acess to the path 'G:SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\EliteDangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64\VersionInfo.txt' is deniet"

I've tried launching game from stream folder as admin got the same error.
I've
I've disabled my Antivirus.
I've updated my windows.
I've tried to verify integrity of the game files.
Still getting the same error, any help would be appreciated.

Steam support would be a better bet than these forums, most likely.

Have you tried verifying the files? Might give you a clue.

Try delete versioninfo.txt do a verify game files again , might be corrupt and steam can't access it to verify

After deleting the the file "versioninfo.txt". I tried verifying game files via steam and it just updated this one file. Just to be sure I also restarted my PC and launched the game. It worked but when I closed the game I received another error message and now i'm getting the same error again.

Ok, that's a weird one. Steam Support might be able to tell you.

I don't have any problem with any other game on steam, It's just elite dangerous. Btw I think I solved the issue, kind of... every time i close elite dangerous i get this error and it would only work if i restart my PC. I have no clue what's causing this problem.

It does sound like some kind of permission issue try changing the ownership of this file only , it's also possible that your user account has become damaged and lost it's permissions , happened to me before , usually indicates some kind of virus or hard drive losing segments of windows

Thanks for all the help, apparently it was the ransomware which was causing all these issue's. Even though I disabled it but still it was blocking some files to access, once I white listed the ED Launcher.exe the problem was solved.
