As the title states, I am very excited about the things coming in Beyond.
But, here are some things "I" would like to see brought to ED once Beyond is released and the dust settles.
Thought? I know I have thought of others but can't remember them now. If I do I'll post them here.
I am aware these center around my playing style which is bounty hunting/combat so if your an explorer, trader or pirate what are your ideas.
Feel free to completely tear these ideas apart if you think they are not workable.
But, here are some things "I" would like to see brought to ED once Beyond is released and the dust settles.
- Enhanced Bounty Hunting: I've have mentioned this before but with the new C&P I would like to see more BH tools.
- A listing of all bounties for each faction at a station (above a certain level so it does not get cluttered). that states the amount of the bounty, if there are any Power bounties on them (if known) and the last know location that this faction has on them. (you do not know if they are an NPC or a player. I think this is important)
- From this listing the ability to "tag" a bounty similar to accepting a mission. This way you can get information on the possible whereabouts of this Cmdr from other factions.
- When you visit Station Services in the contacts section (possibly) you can see the last reported location and the date of that siting for your targets. (see below)
- Other Cmdr's when they scan other ships and that ship is wanted can then turn in that data to station services for a nominal reward.
- You may get contacted while in SC by some Cmdr who has information regarding your target. Some of these nefarious characters may ask for payment for their info.
- Range Voice Communications: Available in SC and normal space. A voice channel that works with any player within your sensor range. In the Comms panel you would select this channel to be your active voice channel (other would be wing channel), then any player within sensor range you would be able to speak to. The other player would only hear you if they are also tuned to this channel. The comms panel would show you if the player was tuned to range. This would enhance player interaction I would think. Pirates can verbally ask for cargo without having to type messages. Getting a wing request from someone you don't know can be awkward, it would be cool if we could talk and then decide to wing up.
- Radar enhancements: Radar for me gets cluttered up sometimes.
- Especially in CZs the selected target gets lost in the sea of red contacts. Possible change the selected target to a brighter red so it can be seen better.
- The ability to filter out materials and cargo containers. Now that destroyed ships drop materials the radar just gets clogged up with all the white dots.
- More engaging missions: I know we have follow on missions but so far they have not made much sense to me.
- Longer assassination/kill missions. Instead of just "They will be at X between y and z time. You are just given a target and a location. When you get there they may not be there but some other Cmdr or station contact gives you more information (similar to Bounty hunting above) These "contracts" can last days or weeks or indefinitely as you do other things while trying to locate your target.
- Better combat missions. It seems that in the 34th century we have reverted to warfare as it was in the 19th century. The 2 sides decide to meet up at a specific location and slug it out until one side wins. Of course I've never seen anyone actually "win" in a CZ.
- You accept a mercenary contract from a faction and are told to meet your contact at the check point near planet X. When you get there you meet Admiral Y who then explains the mission you are being assigned to (there could be other players there also). You are then instructed with the other members of the strike force to do something. i.e. Interdict a convoy that will in entering the system at a specific time, Attack a surface installation (SRVs could be part of this) and yes, attack a station or outpost or defend a station or outpost. These missions would have specific objectives, destroy the convoy, destroy and/or capture the base or station, etc. When those objectives are met then you get paid. (more than just "kill x number of bad guys")
