Some more details on the Type 8 has been revealed by Frontier during the live stream.
It's going to be a fast ship, designed to be a freighter (not the rumoured fighter/freighter). With 6 hardpoints (5 small and 1 medium) it looks like an ideal mining ship.
Cargo capacity has been stated at 406 Tons (no shield), with 9 internal optional slots (1 Size 7, 3 Size 6's, 2 Size 5's, 1 Size 4, 1 Size 2 and 1 Size 1); Internal core slots are Size 5 (powerplant, thrusters, FSD, Fueltank), Power Distributor Size 4 and finally, life support and sensors and being size 3.
It's anticipated that it will appear in August (presumably as a arx purchase)

I personally love the industrial look to it, and so will definitely give it a try. I also love that Frontier are fully behind Elite right now, with more releases to come this year!
