Excited to have this game go full live

So, after 3 gin and tonics I have decided to make a say about this game...

Here I am a few months ago cruzin the web and see that Elite is coming back to life. Being that I used to play this in my younger days I take a look. And I am excited by what I see. Peeping back every now and then to see what state its in I dive in to check it out. As I look at the price for the "Standard Beta" I am outraged at the high cost they have the "balls" to ask for an walk away. Few days later I am back. And I pay the $75.00 for the standard(feeling like a fool by the way). Using my trusty Logitech 3D Joystick, I began to play the single missions. Next thing you know,(and a few martinis) I have now bought the Premium Beta, another $75.00 by the way and way more "balls" to ask for, And am excited for multiplayer! Few hour later I am now ditching my Logitech for Saitek X52(another 100.00 bucks by the way). but what a diff this joystick has made. I am so excited for this game. I can do every thing now! But I wonder... How long until "Pay to win" comes and takes it away like all my other great games? Well, I have said enough. Fly well Commanders!!

Frontier seem to be planning to do whats best for the game, not just thinking of the best ways to milk it. So I have complete faith that pay to win wont be a problem.

Even though it sort of already reared its ugly head in a way.

The price is nothing. I paid £100 for this. I must have played 50 hours, and its still in beta. £2 per hour and I havent even been given the game yet, DLC, and I reckon Ive got at least 2 to 5 years life left in this, maybe double.

Worth every penny.

Thanks STE, I have been playing all the time also and like what it is so far. And cannot wait until every one comes in to play. It will change it a lot! I have never paid so much money for a single game in my entire 30 years of playing computers. And am excited to be a beginner! (4 gin and tonics by the way)!
Good luck all!!

yes, if you judge only by amount of money then it's closer to very expensive but if you judge by time spent then ED is much cheaper compared to any game - just because 99% of the games are one timer with linear story and like 20-30hour game play (exceptions are open world games, but not by much as they can be played for couple months at most), while ED we are planing to play for 5-10 years straight, and that's a really great value for price/time_spent.

besides we, who played elite 30 years ago, are now grown up and willing to support developers who are creating OUR dream game, especially considering that there were no dream games for decades...

Let there be navigational locomotion with the current of fluid motion, the strong stream influence your path to the ocean. Let us not think, but celebrate with a drink, for to ponder soberly is to walk on the brink.
