Man though - the actual missions?!!! I just spent 50 mins trying to source Exhaust Manifest - I found it on the other side of the bubble. All up it took me an hour

Exhaust manifest? Never heard of that commodity. Exhaust Manifolds are sold in a specific location - Refinery's/Industrial systems close to a system called 'Run' the locations of certain commodities are explained in game.

If I saw a mission paying 25k I'd ignore it unless the material/commodity reward was good.

Btw - Specialized Legacy Firmware & Exhaust manifolds are commonly given away in missions. Scout the missions boards whenever you dock, chances are what you need will eventually turn up.
