Exhibit animals where lacking

Hey y’all
Today I would like to discuss exhibits. We have snakes, lizards, insects, arachnids and frogs.
While South America has plenty and has covered all types, other continents do not.
Example the giant hairy scorpion is the only Indian exhibit animal and there are 0 exhibit for Asia.
While North America, Africa and Australia have a few, I think PZ could give some love to the areas that are lacking.
Example: a frog to cover NA, arachnid for Australia, lizard for Africa, and cover India/asia
I also hope PZ will add geckos and salamanders or even flying insects.
Suggest away!

I don't have a huge want list for exhibit animals, I'm mostly good with whatever. The few I do have: Painted Turtle, Black Mamba, Snapping Turtle, Frilled Lizard and the most iconic snake of all (IMO), the King Cobra All reptiles I know, I guess I'm not much of an amphibian or insect person, definitely not arachnids. If they get into marine life and coastal animals, maybe some of the larger crab species

I'd really like an expanded selection of tropical snakes. I was slightly disappointed by the red-eyed tree frog - I'd really hoped to see the emerald tree boa instead.

I could make a list a mile long of exhibit animals I want to see, though.

I'd love to see a full pack of exhibit stuff.

And a move beyond the insects, arachnids, amphibians, and reptiles...a naked mole rat colony and some of the smaller birds are rather classic animals for that size exhibit anyway.

Just a question, because i am curious :)

What is so fun about exhibit animals? I mean: yes they can bring in a lot of cash, but they are just sitting in 1 place and doing nothing... ( i have had a camera on some of them for more than 10 years each, and none moved or did anything).

To me exhibitanimals are worth nothing because of that

Same here. I don't like the exhibit feature we have at this moment. So adding exhibit animals doesn't feel much like an addition to me.
If there would be a exhibit animals only DLC, that would be the first one that I won't be buying.
If they change exhibit animals/exhibit habitats, I most likely will reconsider that POV.

For diversity/variation I'm not against more exhibit animals. Tbh, the current selection of exhibit animals has a strong focus on South America.
Maybe an exhibit animal that will age pretty well in captivity: like the European Legless lizard (Sheltopusik)

A zoo that doesn't have them simply isn't a realistic zoo. That's why I like them.

There's also the point that having them be essentially motionless actually makes sense, since most of the animals in the exhibits don't move an enormous amount in real-life anyway (the giant centipede is probably the exception here).
Thanks :D i don't make realistic zoo's, so that may also be one of the reasons i don't like them.

I know that most of them don't move much, but i have seen lots of snakes or frogs move a little (irl), so when you put your camera on a snake to see it walk/move, it is just a dissapointment to not see it in 10/20 or 30 years of gametime.

While I agree you on the movement, the lack of interaction does make it look like a puppet/toy/statue instead of an animal.
While i'm not familliar with the current scorpion species, more (subtle) movement does suit a lot of species.

Oh sure, having some movement would be nice - but it would likely come at the price of game performance. That's also probably why they haven't made any kind of special exhibits for fish or mammals as yet - they'd have to move around too much to pass the realism test.

I think a few Extra Movements would work without slowing the Game too much down. A Animation would be nice where Iguanas sit on the Floor of the Exhibit and eat and Animations where Exhibit Animals walk from one Point to another would also be great (with a relatively long Break so it doesn't look too artificial when they do this)

They could also have it optimized for animations where they only function while viewed from a certain distance (much like the special effects). I'd be surprised if this added much lag, if any

If they do this with all the animals, guests etc, this would be a massive performance upgrade
