Exhibits with caves

I was trying to include the river with the cliff overhang in my wolf exhibit and a cave near the coast in another exhibit in the canada scenario (the first one after the tutorials) but it seems impossible. Even when i finally managed to get a fence all around, animals in the undercliff river was pinged out as escaped (even though the overlay showed they couldn't go anywhere, the cliff wall itself seemed to be marked as an escape point)

So, I assume, even if so foolishly, that you are using the void barrier here. If the animal can touch the blue line of the barrier, you will get an escape ping. Since you cannot cover it with terrain tool (something I find stupid since it seems that some scenarios are able to do this) your only option is to cover spots where the animal can touch the barrier with rocks, buildings or other things.

If you placed the Barrier direct on the edge of the Cliff and if it is the Part of the Map that I think, then you should place the Fence further away from it because there is a small deepening and if the Fence don't cover it from above and the Animal swims/walks over it, it counts as escaped
