Yesterday it did that to me on ps4.
I went around it by simply closing the app. But it struck me as odd never having done that before.
If it happened on yer pc too, the problem might well have been on the frontier end of things. A minor hiccup perhaps.

Happened to me again this afternoon. But just once.
I've seen no notice of an update happening on ps4.
Game started lagging during jumps today too. It's never done that before.
So far the black screen when logging out doesn't seem to be an issue when it comes to game play. I'm not too concerned.

The betas run on separate servers so it shouldn’t be them.
I get it too, albeit intermittently. Sometimes, it's just a case of waiting longer than usual.
I also see slower load times to bring up the launcher. I have almost nothing running in the background, and the the processes that are take up very few clock cycles anyway.
Seems to have started a couple of Win10 updates ago and yes, sometimes I have to kill the game from task manager.

I find recently that the annoying thing is the length of time it takes for the launcher to display - no doubt due to some server validation going on as there is no activity, just a process showing-up in the details list of task manager. Sometimes it is the normal almost-instant, sometimes it feels like an age before the launcher window appears on-screen.
I don't think it's the Beta itself. I was thinking they may have altered the exit routine during the update, so different games get directed to different servers, and something got wrecked in the process.
Just a thought.
It always - always - happens to me whenever I quit the game on Thursdays within an hour of the server shutdown (which happens at 5 pm on Thursday afternoon, Brisbane time). It rarely happens to me at other times, though I've noticed it happen a couple of times on non-Thursdays in the past week or so.
