Exiting/saving the game

I've only bought the Mercenary pre-order copy for far, so I only have combat tutorials, but I wondered how you exit/save in the real game? Can you quit anywhere at any time or just respawn at that same location, or do you need to save at a starport?

You can quit anywhere and respawn in roughly the same space. Quiting in combat leaves your ship exposed for 15 seconds after you quit.

Interesting tip regarding quitting when in battle. Depending upon the situation, it could be a good way to "hide" from a PvP battle - although I do understand whilst "in limbo", there is a risk.

If you are going to hide from PVP battles, please play solo or in a PVE group. Play open, you do so knowing and accepting the risks, is how I feel it ought to be - otherwise, why play Open?
