Exo question: what has been scanned already?

Well, that's the question. Sometimes we have 6 or 7 biologicals and do we have to note down the ones we scanned or is does the Artemis suit keep track?
And where do I find that list then?

There are two ways I've found in-game. Neither are straightforward or provide the basic simple solution you would get from a list.

One is: clicking on the planet/moon in the system map and then the double-helix "organic information" will show bios you've scanned - careful though! It will show them even if you have done only one scan out of the three required for cashing in!

The other indication is if you use the "pulse" feature of the scanning tool. Any bios with completed scans will show blue there, ones that are available to be scanned will show green (if you have no current bio scans or one or two scans of the same bio) or purple (if you currently have one or two scans of a different bio).

The Artemis scanning tool itself has little lights that show how many scans of the current bio (if any) are done.

If the bio scanner has no lights, and the "organic information" in the system map shows all bios scanned, you can safely leave.

Taking notes in some form might be a good idea. A lot of players use and recommend the Bio Insights plugin for Elite Observatory which can make tracking progress a lot easier, among other things it does. Personally, I found that as I did more exobiology I just got used to remembering the progress, though I occasionally have to go back into SC to remind myself what's left to be done.

Another aid is EDCoPilot, which does what ED should do (amongst other things): it remembers and displays the list of biologicals discovered at the planet scan stage - you don't have to go back into SC to recover the list, just to find the patches.

Thanks for the tips guys. I agree, it's something that should have been in EDO.
A lot of things should be provided by the game, but sadly aren't. That's why the intricate network of 3rd party enhancing tools exists. I'm using the Artemis Scanner Tracker plugin for EDMC to keep track of what I've already scanned.
