- Provide system information in the conflict reports (and other reports).
- Provide information about the alignment of the minor factions involved.
- Add a feature to search for minor factions and systems they have influence in.
- Make conflict zones more varied with goals for each engagement.
- Give empire/fed rank when fighting for the respective power.
- Please fix missions.
It is strange that Galnet's conflict reports only provide handful of minor factions that are at war. The name of the minor faction is the least relevant information a news network could provide since you can not search for them.
It would be better if the news report included the system where the conflict is occurring and the alignment of the factions involved. (I personally want to help empire aligned factions fight non-empire aligned factions). This information would allow players to more easily get involved and influence the conflicts.
Conflict zones should have goals associated with them instead of (or along with) the random fighting. The most typical would be destroying high value targets, communications or defenses. However, the goals could be anything that provides one faction with an advantage over the other. Securing a station could potentially be the ultimate goal of a conflict.
Since you may be fighting directly for one faction or another in a military engagement, you should absolutely earn rank with their respective navy. It seems like it does not currently work like that (or I cannot find a place that confirms it) but it really should have a noticeable influence on your rank.
These features could provide a framework to make the conflicts more engaging and rewarding in the future.
PS: The missions really need improvement. While not a new idea, it is important enough to be repeated.
