Expanding on bookmarks

Hi folks,

as an explorer I'd like to have more bookmarks available than the current 128. Maybe 256 or even 512 or so. In order to get them sorted I'd also like to give the bm's different colors and assign them different labels, such as "black holes", "nebulae", "investigate later", "A6 modules" and stuff like that.

I wonder if this would be a viable thing for the future and if it is on FD's to do list.

You can sort-of give them different labels now by selecting the Edit feature and changing the name of the bookmark. I have used this in marking out waypoints for Buckyball Racing Club events, since it saves time finding a system and plotting routes. Sorting is alphabetical, so careful naming can also help to group similar bookmarks together. This is all a workaround until features like you describe can be implemented, of course.
